A very clean hotel with friendly staff. We paid £120.00 for a coach trip with Harry Shaw to include travel and 4 nights bed and breakfast. The food was basic but perfectly edible and plentiful - there was no menu choice but you get what you pay for . Vegetarians were catered for and the staff coped admirably on the night of arrival with those vegetarians that hadn't pre-advised the hotel. The stay included 2 party nights with Wolfgang on the organ - don a party hat, down and few drinks and you will enjoy him (honestly). Trips to Boppard, Cochem and Rudesheim were very enjoyable although Koblenz was disappointing unless you want to recapture your C & A shopping days. Also well worth doing was a boat trip from Kamp Bornhofen down the Rhine to the Loreley statue - a bargain at 9 Euros. If you're feeling energetic take a 20 minute walk/climb up to castles Sterrenberg and Liebenstein (the feuding brothers) in Kamp Bornhofen for some fantastic views and photo opportunities.

Stayed here on a 5 day coach holiday at Easter. Host Andreas was very friendly and amusing but the entertainment in the evening was geared more for the German tourist. A lovely touch was arriving for breakfast on Easter Sunday to find a decorated egg under the cup and a bag of chocolate goodies on the table for everyone. Standard of cleanliness throughout is excellent and the rooms are large and airy. If you get a room facing the Rhine, be prepared for the local church clock striking every quarter of an hour and the trains going throughout the day and night. However, if you packed in as many trips as we did, through breathtaking scenery, you were so tired that you crashed out and never heard a thing!

My husband and I have stayed at the Hotel Wagner on many occasions in both winter (for the Christmas Markets) and also in July as a summer break. I would recommend a kettle as in Germany this is not usually provided. The for a group food is a set menu but we have always enjoyed whatever was on offer. We would happily go again but our travel company does not currently have Germany in its itinery. We have fallen in love with Kamp Bornhofen and are having to travel with another company this year for the Christmas Markets - 2009 as we miss it so much, counting down to December. The Rhine in summer is beautiful and we look forward to going back in summer soon. Highly recommended.

We booked a cheap 4 day rhine break through the paper which was half board with a free bar in the evenings.

Overall the hotel is ok, think 3 stars is pushing it a bit though! The food we were served was in a set menu basis and was all good. We were well catered for as vegetarians as at the time of booking we weren't asked for any dietary requirements so on the first evening we hadn't expected much and were surprised when they managed to quickly put something together for us. The foods not restaurant standards but as we were on a cheap deal we were more than happy with what we got.
The location isnt great, there's not much in the town itself, but more in boppard which is a 30min walk and a ferry across the rhine away.
We went on a trip with the coach operator we had travelled with as after the end of october the rhine cruise trips all finish until summer. Our trip was ok, but the trip on the sunday caused a few complaints as everything was closed so the guests paid £25 each to sit in a coffee shop all day!

If you're getting a cheap deal then i'd recommend it but don't have too high expectations, and try to avoid being here on a winter sunday as there's not a lot to see so it's a wasted day if you're only on a short break.
