Royal Davui Island Resort
Certificate of Excellence

We cannot speak highly enough of Royal Davui Island Resort. My Husband and I were married on Royal Davui Island in July 2014. I had contact with Neo the wedding planner for months prior to our arrival and she was amazing. Nothing was a problem as we found to be true of all the staff , they went out of their way to make our stay memorable and their work ethic was second to none. Our whole stay went off without a hitch. Our wedding day was superb.
After spending time at another resort on the mainland, we went to the mariner to catch our boat to the island we were greeted with smiles and BULAs from the staff and the friendliness and help just continued from there. We were treated like royalty. When we were taken to our bure I was absolutely astounded. We found it to be more beautiful than the pictures we had seen on the internet. Our bure was amazing. Very private with its own plunge pool. We stayed for 10 days on the island and had the most amazing time. The staff made us feel very comfortable and are now part of our extended family. We met some of the other guests who also our attended our wedding and took pictures for us. We went to the village and spent time at the school, I fell in love with all the beautiful children's friendliness and uninhibited singing and dancing. The only negative thing I can say is we didn't stay long enough. We will be back xox
Perfect for couples and honeymooners you can do as little or as much as you want. There are many activities and there is plenty of time to just relax and do nothing if you prefer. The staff will be as attentive as you want. The chefs are amazing and nothing is an issue for them. Meals can be delivered to your bure if you wish. Beach hut is also available for dining. Picnics can be delivered to you anywhere on the island. Cocktails are superb.
Our massages were very relaxing. One was not enough.
The beach is beautiful and pristine with awesome reefs, great snorkelling and diving opportunities.
The most amazing part of our whole holiday was the staff at Royal Davui Island Resort.

We had the pleasure of staying here for 6 nights for our honeymoon.
We stayed in Villa 12 for 3 nights and Villa 5 for 3.
We booked the 2 rooms as our first choice was booked out for the first few days of our stay. We had the sunrise for villa 12 and glorious sunsets when in 5. Personally we preferred the first room as it had an indoor garden and the layout was so nice. But both were just lovely. We had everything we needed at this resort and more.
Fijian people in general are the most beautiful culture and we love spending time in their company, but the staff here were more like family. They knew us by name from the minute we arrived and were attentive to our every need during our stay.
It was truly sad to leave this resort as we felt like we were leaving friends!
The food is out of this world. We were initially concerned that set menus and meals might leave us hungry or spending more money on snacks...my husband is a 6ft3 man who has a big appetite, we were both completely satisfied with the amount of food, and have never had such quality meals and presentation at any other place of stay.
The rooms were serviced twice daily and the housekeeping staff were like fairies who worked their magic while we were enjoying meals in the restaurant or activities around the island. It was an un intrusive arrangement which we appreciated for the privacy factor.
The opportunity for keeping to ourselves was respected by all, however if we wished to socialise with staff and other guests this was also great. We initially thought we would dine in our rooms a lot, but once there we LOVED the atmosphere of the restaurant with the view, the bar and the mingling with the gorgeous staff.
The Daily Davui newsletter is a wonderful touch with Fiji facts, the next day's menu and guest arrivals and departures. We kept each one as a momento of our stay.
If staying here you must visit the private sand bar not far from the resort. We did a Drown the Gown session here and also had a couple's private picnic on another day, arranged and packed by Royal Davui. It was a couple of hours of absolute bliss! I've never seen anything like it. Our photos looked photoshopped!!
This place is one that I would love to return to again and again.
The perfect blend of tropical retreat with plenty to do and plenty to see.

My wife and I are coming to the end of our week at Royal Davui and we will be sad to leave. The resort, staff and surrounds are unbeatable. As a keen diver, the access to pristine reefs across Beqa Lagoon, and one of the best shark dives in the world makes Davui the perfect resort for those who want to relax, and for those that are keen to participate in a range of activities from diving, rafting to visiting local villages. Great food, great service with a perfect backdrop, we'll be back.

Room Tip: Sunrise or sunset, your choice.

All the wonderful things others say are true. We had a beautiful bure above South Beach with its private pool for ten days, so private that we lounged unclothed frequently. Not cheap but world class 6 star and worth every cent. A relaxing, quiet, exclusive venue, perfect for honeymooners. We met lots of interesting people at evening cocktail hour. Chefs prepare superb meals and the gluten free diet for my wife was no trouble to them. A variety of excursions are available. We especially enjoyed visits to the school and church service. Children's uninhibited laughing with each other is good medicine and the adults sing in perfect harmony. We flew in over the mountains and the pilot took us around the coast on our return to Nadi. Hosts Michael and Angela are experts at their craft and have every wish fulfilled without fuss. Strongly recommended.

Room Tip: All bures are well placed and we loved No 11.

Very personal, exclusive, romantic, quiet, friendly place, great food. Perfect for a beautiful beach marriage. Definitely nothing for budget travelers, but a good investment for a once in a lifetime journey.

Royal Davui is perfect for a quiet getaway. Since they only have about 16 villas, there is plenty of privacy. Each villa is tucked away in a jungle-like setting. It's very peaceful. If you need some additional human interaction, most of the guests tend to head to the bar in the evening for a pre-dinner drink. Some nights they have traditional dancing or a cava ceremony with the band boys.

The rooms at Royal Davui are beautiful. We had our own plunge pool overlooking the ocean, open air living room and giant soaking tub.

The food was great. There were plenty of choices at all meals. They offered a variety of local, western, asian and indian cuisines. The kitchen staff is more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions.

The dive shop is run very well. The equipment is good quality and the dive guides/boat drivers are very friendly and helpful. Definitely try to set up the shark dive in advance of your arrival. It is worth it!

The only thing I wasn't nuts about was our flight transfer. Our pilot was very nice and seemed knowledgeable, but the plane itself didn't seem to be in great shape. I've been on plenty of small planes before, and this is was my least favorite. If I were to do it again, I probably would do the drive from Nadi to Pacific Harbour instead.

I was very impressed that each member of the staff made a point to come up to us and shake our hands and introduce themselves. We were always greeted by name and with a smile throughout our stay.

My Husband and I spent 5 nights here for our Honeymoon in April and it was beyond words as to how incredible this place is! From the moment we checked in at the Airport for our Flight to the Island we knew we had made the right choice in Davui. Our Pilot was very friendly and explained everything to us as I was a little anxious about being on a small plane, however I had nothing to worry about it was an amazing experience in itself, it was so scenic overlooking the Coral Coast and all its beautiful reefs. When we stepped on the plane we were escorted straight to a beautiful air conditioned bus and whisked away to the Harbour for the next stage of our journey. Upon arriving at the Island we were greeted by Manager Michael who was incredibly welcoming and friendly! The staff all gather together to sing to you upon your arrival and you feel instantly at home, before going to the restaurant for a cool drink and a nice wet towel to freshen up while you fill out all the standard check in paperwork.

At last we arrived at our Island Plunge Pool Vale! It was even better than it looks in the pictures! We were welcomed to the Vale with beautiful flowers on the bed and a freshly baked loaf of banana bread that was still warm – it was amazing!!! We spent a lot of our days in our plunge pool that we could request to have the temperature changed on so it was always the perfect temperate.

The food was like nothing I have ever experienced before there was always something new to choose from everyday and it was super exciting coming back to our room each night to find our “Davui News” there with the next day’s menu options in it! My husband and I are quite picky eaters however we never had any trouble finding something we liked on the menu and the option was always there to repeat a previous meal from other days if there was nothing you liked.

Activities are so easy to book, however, I recommend booking the sand-spit picnic as soon as you can as its very popular and you definitely don’t want to miss out! We were escorted across to the sand-spit and left with an umbrella, some chairs, an esky full of food and a mobile phone to call if we wanted to return earlier than the arranged time. We had our picnic at breakfast time, we choose the bacon and egg sandwich (it was HUGE 4 eggs and piles of bacon), a tart, banana bread and fruit salad, along with various juices and bottled water, it was all there ready to go!

The other activity that we did was fishing, again we were sent out with an esky loaded up with 2 big containers of fruit and 2 large containers of freshly baked biscuits and bottles of water, it was amazing how organized everything was there was nothing over looked at any stage!

The water is crystal clear, the sand soft and white, the food incredible, Vales like no other. We would go back in a heartbeat!
