“Like greeting an old friend”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

Mirmande on its own is well worth a visit but when you can combine it with a meal at the Margot it makes for the best of times.
Mirmande is just off our regular route from The Swiss Rhine Valley to The Costa Blanca and I always try and time the 15 hour drive so that we have a real chance of taking lunch at the Margot. Summertime is best when you can sit outside under the vines and not only drink the excellent house wine but the wonderfull village atmosphere and watch the commings and goings fo the local farmners delivering their wares to the excellent kitchen.
Location-The historic and picturesque village of Mirmande.
Greeting-Always warm, always friendly.
Menu-Limited by the freshest of local ingredients.
Food-Always excellent. On this occasion I enjoyed local lamb and my wife had duck.
Price-Modest for such a treat.

“Very French - forget your phrase books”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013 via mobile

We booked a table here whilst staying in the Hotel Mirmande which I have reviewed separately. The meal we had was very reasonably priced at 28€ for four courses and although very limited in choice the five of us just about managed to pick a dish from each course which we liked. Forget your phrase books with this menu as the regional nuances of the language are very evident here, our French is not good so we were relieved to have a very pleasant young waitress who was able to assist, don't let this put you off though as we enjoyed our evening and also our drinks on the terrace during the day. All in all worth a try as it is far more reasonable than the other option in town.

“As authentic as it gets”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2013

We stayed in a room above the restaurant which was a bit of a haul with the luggage (thank you to the proprietor for his help), and oddly the door to the room opens on to his mini empire of the Margot, L'Hotel de Mirmande and Cafe Burt (and others for all we know). But this did not spoil our stay in this charming village.
Food in the restaurant seemed to us to be totally fresh, local a very authentic French restaurant experience. The style is rustic charm and the food different each day. Wine, mostly local is at a fair price and you will be in the company of local people and a few lucky tourists who have found the place. Service is excellent despite a bit of confusion over breakfast (we think we ended up eating the chef's breakfast on our first day).
Great food, great setting great service, a real France experience.

“Superb view, excellent service, good food, reasonable prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

Warm June evening on the terrace overlooking the ancient village and valley below. Need I say more? The service was prompt and warm, and did not try to push us toward the most expensive dishes or wines. The food was beautifully served and of high quality, though I had expected a more exciting taste for the main dish. The price was reasonable. I would eat there again with no hesitation.

“Great place for a convivial lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

Our second visit there this year. Although the menu had not changed there was plenty of choice and all 6 of us enjoyed and finished each course.
