“Great - as usual”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2013

This is our fourth annual visit to the restaurant and it is great to see that it still maintains its high standards. The menus were different every time, but always interesting and of a really high quality. Between 6 of us, we covered every option on the 30-euro menu and nobody could fault anything. The service is very friendly and professional. I cannot fault this restaurant - I stll can't understand why it hasn't got a Michelin star. We'll be back next year and hope to see it maintain its usual high standards of gastronomic excellence.

“Lovely”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

Very nice restaurant - quite formal atmosphere with formal service - we ate on their paved terrace out the back. Two set menus at 30 and 43 euros ( the website shows these if you want to see them before you go). We all had the 30 euro menu and all enjoyed what we chose- the duck with peaches was lovely and my parents both enjoyed their fish, desserts also very nice and there were amuse bouches before we started and small sweets to finish too. For the three courses and little extras it was a really good price and the wine list had a good range of options on too starting from about 19 euros for a bottle of rosé or wines by the glass if preferred. No email booking on the site so had to use basic French to reserve a table over the phone but it was worth it because, even on a Thursday night when we went it did get fairly full (although it was a bank holiday that day in France).

“Why no Michelin star?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

We had the tasting menu with the wine selected for us - 69 euros and well worth it. There were cheaper menus but we delighted in a 3 hour gastronomique feast.
Service was excellent despite being busy and the Chef generously spoke to all customers at the end of the night.
If you are not staying in Saujon itself you may need to book a taxi when you commence your meal.

“Wow!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2011

We chose the hotel because of the restaurant reviews and we were not disappointed with either the hotel or the restaurant! We were a party of nine, stretching three generations, from 11 years to late 60's, and everyone loved it! Some of us chose the 29Euro menu and others the 39Euro, but everything was explained very carefully by the delightful waitresss and the chef. We chose magnificent local wine, with some assistance from the staff. It was the last night of a busy weekend celebrating a family wedding, and I can't think of a nicer way to end a holiday. We are all talking about our meal, and we will still be talking about it for a long time. I would love to return!
