“Sandie Wilson-Greene Unforgettable warm friendly luxury”

Our wonderful ranger, Stephanie, came to collect us from the car park and from that moment we were looked after with personal care and attention that you don't find very often. The main lodge was so comfortable and our own accommodation was always perfectly turned out and stocked with refreshments. I know it's not always possible to predict what game you will come across, we were lucky to see everything we could possibly have put on our wish list although our ranger made our luck for us Stephanie was amazing. All our meals were everything you could ask for served up beautifully with such pleasant staff to serve your whims. I will certainly return to Nambiti it is very beautiful and dramatic and with Elephant Rock laying on the service I just cant recommend it enough without gushing.

We had a wonderful stay at Elephant Rock Lodge, more like visiting with friends than being with strangers for a weekend. The staff is great, warm and lovely people, all of them. The food was great and the viewing deck over the dam where the animals would roam around all added to a wonderful stay. On return from one of our game drives we found a warm bath with candles awaiting us.....such a special touch. I found the bedding of good quality and nice on the skin and the private viewing deck in front of the chalet added to an absolute wonderful weekend. Thanks to all the staff who became like friends to us, we really loved our stay there. We had a friend from overseas joining us on this trip and he thought it was an amazing stay and just want to return as soon as possible.

Room Tip: We had rooms 4A & B with interleading door between the rooms. The view I think is the best of a...

My husband and I took my parents on a safari trip and we stayed at the Elephant rock lodge. We were welcomed by the friendly staff and taken to our rooms. Those were great! Spacious, a-ma-zing view and swing chairs on our deck overlooking the waterhole. Very nice.
The ranger (Steph) who took us on our drives was very friendly and told us a lot about what we saw. We almost lost an elephant (quite the achievement!) but we found it back, swimming in a waterhole with 2 friends. A wonderful experience.
The food at the lodge was good. We had wonderful meals and after every game drive we were welcomed by Steve with a nice hot towel and a drink.

The only thing that bothered us, was the fact that they never asked if it was ok to put a complete stranger (who did not speak our language) at our diner table. We were NOT pleased with that at all, it was very very awkward and unpleasant. We hadn't seen my parents for a year, so quality time was the goal here. Our request to not do that again was applied fairly quick, so that was nice.

Other than that: we had a great stay! Rooms are good, the lodge is beautiful (did I mention the lovely cold pool? I did not, but they have one!), the staff was very friendly and helpful, the game drives were a lot of fun, the food is good and we slept like babies in the lovely beds.

So all in all a wonderful stay. Will recommend this to our friends and family.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view over the waterhole. It's beautiful to just sit in your hanging chair...

We were lucky enough to spend 4 days of our honeymoon at Elephant Rock Lodge in Ladysmith. We were welcomed by such wonderful staff who took such great care of us. We were given special treatment of our own candlelit dinners of the most amazing food to running a bubble bath for us in our room after our game drive. We had the most knowledgeable guide, Brad, who we thoroughly enjoyed and we would return just to have him as our guide. Our rooms were cleaned everyday with such attention to detail. We were very privileged to go to the Cheetah Encounter and even though it sounds like a lot of money, it was worth EVERY cent! My husband is highly allergic to Gluten/Wheat and he was treated like a king. Special bread/biscuits and separate meals were prepared for him and it made such a difference. By the end of our stay we both felt like we had gained 10kgs from the amazing food!! We left Elephant Rock with such heavy hearts, not wanting to return home. (Don't forget if you ever need extra game rangers we would volunteer) Thank you to all the staff for such an enjoyable honeymoon, one that we will never forget!!! We will see you for the next 60 years of anniversaries.

From arriving to leaving the lodge was just a fantastic experience. Attention to detail was first class.
Thank you to Lee-Anne, Tarryn and Brad for a wonderful and relaxing time. Brad always went the extra mile on the game drives making sure that I managed to capture fantastic photos. Tarryn was such a wonderful hostess, nothing was too much trouble. Coming in form the evening game drive to a warm welcome with beautiful table settings and lighting, food absolutely lovely, sitting having breakfast watching the hippos and other animals just amazing.
The peace quiet and tranquillity of the lodge will remain with us for ever. The outside shower was just fantastic. The whole team make it such a memorable and individual experience for everyone, if you want peace, quiet, good food and fantastic game drives then don't look any further. Lots of local people visit here which in itself is a good recommendation
All of the ancillary staff look after and care for the whole complex to a high standard. The surprise of the last evening, I won't spoil it for you was just a lovely end to our very enjoyable stay

Room Tip: All of the rooms are equally good, have view over the water hole and are spaced far enough apart to...

I've spent one great week in this lodge. Because of the excellent reviews from other visitors, my expectations were high, - and they got completely fulfilled.

I got a big house for me alone (plenty of space even for two persons, big sleeping room and bathroom). However, the very best is the terrace with a great view to the waterhole (sometimes with hypos) and relaxing "rocking chairs". Room service is excellent. They are coming three times a day to clean up or prepare something in your room (never had this in any hotel before).

I've made 14 game drives in total; - each one was special. Always new experiences with animal watching. Good explanation and stories by ranger Stephanie. Each game drive incl. a short break with drinks and coffee (try the Elefant Rock Special). After each afternoon game drive you get welcomed with a glass of Cherry.

Excellent and plenty of food three times the day (the only one negative personal experience was the increase of my body weight). Service was always very friendly. Learn some Zulu words with Winnie ...

A visit to the cheetah breeding project is highly recommended. The guided tour through the compounds is very informative and to interact with these elegant cats is a special experience. I've made two visits during my week there.

There are still many other things I've experienced positively, but I think I've covered the most important ones and it became clear that I've personally enjoyed my time there. I'll come back again - next time with my family.

Room Tip: Lodge no. 3 has a great view to the waterhole.
