“WONDERFUL”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

From the moment you arrive you realise that this is a very special experience.
The staff are most attentive - warm hand towels after a morning drive - hot water bottles and blankets to protect you from the chill of an early start - are indicative of the thought and care shown to us by all the staff at Elephant Rock.
Thank you Stephanie for your wonderful game drives. I will never forget my first mocca-chocca-rula whilst watching elephants in the distance on a fresh winter morning in the most delightful and exciting scenery. Nor will I forget your entertaining and very informative commentary of the animals we were privileged to see.
The food is excellent - our last breakfast on the balcony of the lodge whilst watching giraffe feed in the distance was extremely memorable.
The room was very comfortable - I especially liked the large bed, electric blankets and the large bath with a great view of the garden.
The homely feel, the care of the staff and watching the animals within the reserve are the things that made this a very special experience for me.
If you are addicted to the internet and/or TV then this is not the place for you, as there are neither. I found that the lack of these modern day distractions, added more to the quality of the experience.
Cannot wait to return.

From the moment you arrive the staff make you feel at home and welcome. The lodge and the chalets are beautiful, food is great and the game is plentiful - we got to see four of the Big Five so we were thrilled. Lee Anne , Ryan and Winnie were all so friendly and helpful - Great lodge staff - Thank so much. The cleaning staff which we never saw also did a wonderful job. Special Thanks to Nichole - our Ranger - she was so knowledgeable and went out of her way to find us some good sightings. Really a Great place to stay and we would love to visit again soon.....

You get very warm welcomed at Elephant Rock Lodge and they always suprise you with a little detail. One evening we found a filled bath tub with candles nicely decorated - what a nice idea after a rather cold game drive in winter time. Nambiti is very easy to reach by rental car from JNB.

Lee-Ann and her team were absolutely amazing with their hospitality and accommodating our needs. We celebrated my daughter's 30th and booked out the entire lodge which sleeps 10 people. They even baked a beautiful cake! The food was great and the hot towels and sherry was just the thing after a cold, dusty game drive. Our game ranger, Nicole, was so knowledgeable and brave in the way she handled that vehicle. She went off-road to track the lions and cheetah and were privileged to view them up-close. Ryan was a star and we kept him going till 2am! My daughter and her friends had a great time and thank you for making it so special. This was my 2nd visit and you guys standards were the same, excellent! My best is the waterhole, just sitting and watching the animals come down for a drink! No where else did I experience this and we've been to lots of game reserves.

Visiting Elephant Rock Private Safari Lodge makes you feel special. Everything is organised superb and you just enjoy. The lodges are luxorious and very clean. They offer delicious meals and wonderful suprises e.g. glas of Sherry after the evening drive or a hot bubble bath in a candle light. Service is excellent and friendly. The drives are planned well so that you meet animals you wished to see (we saw four out of big five). Our guide Stefanie was excellent and she gave us lot of new information on animals and their behaviour. Visiting the local Cheetah park is also very recommendable. I would love to go back and experience it all again but in the meanwhile I can highly recommend Elephant Rock Private Safari Lodge to anyone. We had an unforgettable experience!

This is a "sanctuary" worth visiting! Fantastic for families as they accommodate children of all ages and make a huge fuss of the kids! Even providing fantastic worksheets and educational packages for them to entertain them and include them on the very educational game drives! The staff are fantastic and work together as a well oiled team. Meals become adventures of excellence as no trouble is spared. Even a child with very complicated dietary needs were accommodated in every way making even her meals special and yummy! One is treated like royalty with special treats all day long! Even a surprise bubble bath with candle light and rose petals! Wow! An experience of heaven! Breakfast on the veranda with hippo in the dam below! Very highly recommended for romantic getaways!
