“Nice!”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Spent two nights here over the recent bank holiday and were pleasantly surprised. The owners are very welcoming and the "Willowfield Whammie" at breakfast is an absolute must - I can't remember having a better cooked breakfast, ever! The honesty bar in the Lounge works well and is well stocked. I must comment on the decor, which is just starting to look a little dated and tired, but the room was very clean and the bed comfy.

In terms of value for money, though, I don't think you can go far wrong with this little gem.

Room Tip: Get a room with an Estuary view if you can.

Stayed at the Willowfield for one night. The room was comfortable and good value for money with a lovely breakfast in the morning. The owners are friendly and welcoming. We had some good weather and the views out onto the estuary are lovely. Would recommend to anyone considering a stay in Arnside.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front have a wonderful view

We stayed here for three nights (my second visit) and would happily return anytime. The welcome is warm, the rooms excellent and well equiped with extras such as the TV that has a DVD built in and a slot for the memory card from your camera. Amazing views from the front rooms and wonderful breakfast which you do not have to stipulate the time you want to eat it. the owners are charming and nothing is too much trouble for them and if you like dogs their three wire haired dacshunds which appear for about an hour after brekfast are absolute charm personified. This should be your number one choice if you are staying in Arnside.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the viaduct and estuary are the ones to pick and are good value for money for such...

We have visited the Willowfield with my parents many times and always receive a very warm welcome. The rooms are extremely comfortable with all the usual amenities and some extras. There is always plenty of choice for breakfast and the little extra of having our flask filled is always very welcome. We would always recommend the Willowfield.

We had done our homework, having searched online for somewhere in the south east Lakes with good service and a room with a view. What a pity we could only spend one night in this very comfortable B&B, where the attention to detail and friendly welcome helped us feel at home immediately. What we love about older buildings over modern hotels is the extra space - we had plenty of room to relax, either in our bedroom or in the lounge. Breakfast was the best we have had, cooked and served to perfection, and with plenty of choice for the health conscious! For supper we can recommend The Albion, a short walk away, although it could become very busy in the summer.

Room Tip: Talk to the owners for the best room to suit your requirements - they certainly helped us.

We spent a night here recently as we were attending a wedding nearby. The only negative thing I would say is that the decor is a bit retro - there's some serious swirly carpet etc to contend with. However, our stay was very pleasant and good value for money. Our rooms faced the estuary with beautiful views, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The whole place was spotlessly clean, and the staff helpful and efficient. The breakfast was nice. I also had the chance to look round at No 43 Arnside, a couple of doors down, where some of the other wedding guests were staying. It's very similar as a building, but has had quite a stylish modern makeover. However, it was also three times the price! The Willowfield was comfortable and good value for money, so if you can cope with the swirly carpet, I'd recommend it.

Popped in on the off chance on our way south from Scotland. Lovely looking building with a super position over the Kent estuary. We had a choice of rooms and chose one at the front with distant views of the Lakeland Fells. At the top end of the price range but what value. All the facilities you would expect from a much larger hotel and an amazing amount of local tourist information available. A lovely residents lounge with a well stocked honesty bar, a welcome pot of tea on arrival and one of the best breakfasts for years. Peter even went to the trouble of looking at the forecast for our journey south and what to expect back home. A lovely touch.
