“very expensive now”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

We regularly go here, it was a bit of a donkey going back several years but with the right land lord it really picked up and made a good name for its self for good food as it started out doing really good deals to build up trade.

Im not sure if its been taken over but there are some big changes, the biggest one being the hugh hike in the price of drinks!

not long ago our usual round of a pint of larger and three cola's was £7.20, in line with the other pubs....this weekend the same round was £10.60!!!!...........for a pint and three glasses of pop!!....that's a rip off im afraid.

“Excellent pub food”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

A friend and I recently had two evening meals here after a great (and expensive) dissappointment at the other pub in the village. Here (Ye Olde Fighting Cocks), the meals were obviously freshly cooked and were delicious. The chips are the best I've ever tasted - golden, crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. The steak and ale pie was amazing. The staff were very friendly and the service was good. Oliver looked after us well the first night and the owner and a girl (sorry didn't get her name) the second. We were made to feel very welcome. Thanks and keep up the good work.

“A thoroughly pleasant evening”
Reviewed May 31, 2014

Excellent, friendly service, good pub grub, and a buzzy atmosphere. The pub quiz was good fun too. I'll look forward to going back . May 28th 2014. We dined in the bar, and stayed over.

“O.K.”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

Food was fine, well presented and served within a reasonable time, however we chose the small portion option and this was a big mistake, for three grown adults we where definitely not going to grow any more due to the tiny portion of fish and chips served, one comment made they had had bigger fish fingers than the portion of fish on offer, this restaurant would do well on the shores of Galilee where they could serve large numbers of people with a minuscule amount of fish. Other than the portion control the place was nice, the location is really nice looking out over the viaduct and sweeping bay. Would probably visit again but would not order this particular sized dish,

“The Importance of Good Service”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

When we arrived the place was fairly well packed and not much room to spare, generally a good sign I think. The landlord, looking a bit frayed at the edges, was juggling a busy pub with some kitchen equipment malfunctions. Despite that he was courteous, considerate to his customers and, above all, was communicating. So we sat back, enjoyed the view, had a beer and passed the time. Assured that food would be produced in good time. The food was excellent when it arrived. A pleasure to spend time and look forward to going back.
