“Nice fountain, even nicer white village”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

Casares is a typical Spanish white village of this region. It is a lovely village to explore with many interesting features, one of which is the Carlos III fountain. It's situated in the centre of Casares, was built in 1785 and spouts fresh mountain water. It's also a traffic hazard!
Casares is worth the drive to visit - we spent several hours there exploring and having a meal.
Recommended.

“A mammoth chess piece”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

Set in the centre of Casares, a beautiful Andalusian white village, this fountain squats there looking like a giant chess piece. Apart from making it difficult for traffic to get round the square, it is an ideal place for the elderly to sit and enjoy the sun.
