After a short, winding drive from Estepona, Casares, the first of the famous White Towns of Andalucia, came suddenly, and dramatically, into view after we rounded a bend. What a sight! The gleaming, white washed house nestled into the hills, and the nearer you got to them the brighter they appeared. Walking around Casares was an absolute pleasure, although not easy as the little streets twisted and turned in a maze-like fashion. Driving would have been impossible, so find a parking spot on the outskirts - we were lucky enough to find a space on a roadside by a restaurant, which we then went into for lunch. We managed to find the castle at the top of the town, and the views of Casares from there were breath taking. We then wended our way through Casares again to the car, and came across some streets festooned with festival-like paper decorations. A lovely sight, and a lovely place to visit.
