“Remarkable site of the White Town”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

After a short, winding drive from Estepona, Casares, the first of the famous White Towns of Andalucia, came suddenly, and dramatically, into view after we rounded a bend. What a sight! The gleaming, white washed house nestled into the hills, and the nearer you got to them the brighter they appeared. Walking around Casares was an absolute pleasure, although not easy as the little streets twisted and turned in a maze-like fashion. Driving would have been impossible, so find a parking spot on the outskirts - we were lucky enough to find a space on a roadside by a restaurant, which we then went into for lunch. We managed to find the castle at the top of the town, and the views of Casares from there were breath taking. We then wended our way through Casares again to the car, and came across some streets festooned with festival-like paper decorations. A lovely sight, and a lovely place to visit.

“magical”

The pueblo of Casares Spain is breath taking with the white walls and beautiful homes scattered throughout the mountain. The weather was cold as a storm came in...But we loved the area

“Beautiful Little Town”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

From Estepona it is not a long drive, the roads are quite winding but not a problem if not rushing. At the top of the climb the road turns to reveal the amazing blocks of white houses nestling on the hill, with the monastery and castle perched atop.

“well worth a drive”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

From Puerta Banus to Casares is about 25 minutes. The drive is pretty but when you arrive at the top of the hill and look down on Casares you know you have come to a place to see and explore. Casares is a large white hilltop village with a castle to visit and just to venture within the town. There are restaurants nearby, did not try them but looked good and inexpensive.
