“Paradise”
Reviewed October 12, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

What can I say about the Ddg that hasn't already been said. Yes its a little piece of heaven, yes its romantic luxury at best and yes, its probably the worlds best kept secret, but not for much longer as word gets around that a stay at the Ddg is about as good as it gets. This was our third time at the Ddg and its just gets better. Having stayed at Casa Cipres twice we thought we would try Casa Oleandro and were not disappointed. Set high in the middle of a pine forest the views are spectacular. The outdoor plunge pool is perfect for cooling down as the temperature rises and the outdoor seating area just the job for a nightcap under the stars, whilst the outside bath set in a little secret garden is just idyllic. Whilst looks, location and comfort are important its the whole package that sets the Ddg apart. Attention to detail is second to none and the personal touch is the icing on the cake. Arriving for my birthday weekend we were greeted like old friends, welcome champagne, handwritten card and birthday breakfast made my day truly special.Sadly the spectacular candlelit dinner is only available three nights a week so make sure you stay over the weekend and sample the Galician monkfish stew (to die for). However there are some very fine restaurants nearby, the Forge for instance is a must. Its just that when those gates close behind you on the way into the Ddg you just never want to leave.

“Private paradise”
Reviewed September 30, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed in Casu bambu for 6 nights after our wedding for a "mini moon" and are so pleased that we did.
It is such a great location way up in the hills away from the hustle and bustle with breathtaking views and such piece and quiet, if you want to be completely private up there you can be.
Everything was just so well done, from the bed to the outdoor shower, the food, the spa and the treatments.
We had 2 dinners which were truly delicious as well as the two different lunch platters that are available, yum.
The local recommended restaurants are great too, we certainly ate a lot of tasty and authentic food.
Please make sure that you have a massage while you are there as the one I had I would rate as one of the best in the world, the masseuse was very experienced and understood about the chakras of the body for an experience that was truly top class.
We will be definitely be back, it is so close (a short flight from the UK) for a piece of paradise...maybe for our first wedding anniversary!
Thank you DDG for an unforgettable time.

“The most relaxing break ever!”
Reviewed September 26, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We were looking for a break in a quiet, peaceful place after needing some time to recuperate following an illness. We chose DDG Retreat and after two weeks of lounging by the beautiful pool, enjoying the sunshine and healthy mountain air, eating fresh, lovely food and being pampered in the spa, I came home feeling much better and refreshed. The casa and its interiors were beautiful. We didn’t leave DDG Retreat other than stocking up on shopping or going out for occasional meals and we didn’t have a moment when we felt we were missing out on anything. The tennis courts and gym were great for when we felt like we wanted some exercise. We were surprised at how quickly the time went by. We were really sad to leave and I can’t thank Olga and Sasha enough for letting us share the tranquility of their beautiful Retreat. We'd love to go back again before the Season ends. If we can’t make it back there in October, we look forward to going back next year and can’t recommend it highly enough.

“STUNNING! THE WORLD’S BEST KEPT SECRET.”
Reviewed September 23, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This is my first TripAdvisor review, and I fear I may come to regret it, if we can’t get in next time we’d like to book! DDG Retreat is just one of those places that plunges you into that dilemma of choosing between telling everyone you meet how wonderful it is - or keeping it all to yourself. This was our fourth visit. Here are 10 reasons we keep going back.

• Stunningly Serene – By the time we’ve unpacked our bags, we feel so relaxed.
• Stunning Views – Three countries , Spain, Africa and Gibraltar. Amazing!
• Stunning Pool – Small, eco-friendly and a beautiful blue (can natural water be THIS blue?)
• Stunning Casa – These casas are individually crafted. We love the attention to detail. We also love the coffee machines and the fact that there’s a small kitchen where we can prepare light lunches.
• Stunning Terraces – Our casa had three fantastic balconies. One for dining, one with a swinging day bed, and the third offering a chill-out sofa in the shade. All perfect for enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sun set.
• Stunning Spa – A wooden cabin in the trees and the spa treatment by Luisa is the best ever.
• Stunning Food – We can’t compliment Olga’s cooking enough. Simple fresh meals, beautifully presented and served. Lots of good restaurants within a short drive too.
• Stunning Location – Close enough to great beauty spots to explore the coast, the mountains and the local towns and villages.
• Stunning Nature – This doesn’t seem like Spain, it’s a tropical paradise. The trees, the flowers, the tweeting of the birds. Lovely to get back to nature,
• Stunning Service – Last, but not least …. discreet but great service, there when needed, but never intrusive.

We can’t think of a reason we wouldn’t go back for a fifth visit. If you are looking for an authentic and perfect place to relax, we can’t think of anywhere better.

“Heaven and Perfection together in one place, a superb place to relax and unwind, with 5 star service”
Reviewed September 22, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Please keep this place quite, the less people that know about this fantastic place the better then their will be a better chance for a repeat booking.
Just a beautiful location, designed for relaxing and unwinding yet close to the delights of Andalusia should you wish to venture further afield.

“Ultimate relaxation”
Reviewed September 21, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Only minutes from the Costa del Sol but you'll feel like you're hours away. The owners have thought of almost everything to ensure that you have no stresses at all during your time there - and while they are happy to help with anything, it is in no way overbearing and they make themselves available only when you need them. The location, rooms, spa services and amenities were all great and at times you feel like you have the entire retreat to yourself. Would not hesitate to visit again or recommend to anyone.

“Relax in a beautiful location”
Reviewed September 4, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

DDG Retreat is exceptional and unique.
It's located at the top of the world, peaceful and completely relaxing.
You can quite literally close the door and enjoy the views from your accommodation or use the facilities and still enjoy the views!
Staff, food and service are all great - nothing intrusive, but high quality.
Would recommend anyone looking for some peace and something a little different.
