“Never been disappointed.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2012

Have been coming to this beautiful resturant for a few years and always look forward to returning. Fabulous location and the staff are all wonderful. Never had a bad meal here. Wine is great too and very inexpensive. Well worth a visit.

“Great food for the right price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012 via mobile

The food here is very good and this place deserve a visit for sure, you will not be disappointed.
The only thing that I would recommend to the owner would be to care a little more about the service. The waitresses are not rude but also not very kind and welcoming.

“Minimalistic style but good food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

It's been a while since we my wife and I were there, but I assume it's like then. The interior is structured minimalist and stylish, but this makes poor acoustics. When there are many who speak in this room there will be plenty of disturbing echoes. That act so is the food and service good. Can be recommended.

“Menu del dia a real bargain at 12 euros”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

Location: This is misleading in the Tripadvisor address and on the map link. The correct address is Carretera Ma 8300 - km 7 E - 29690 Casares. It is 7K from the motorway AP7 on the road to Casares (MA8300). The restaurnat is right next to the road and cannot be missed. We went on a Thursday lunchtime in October and no booking was needed.

Building/Atmosphere: Modern and as others have noted, the conservatory area is right next to the road, but as the road is not a busy one, this did not concern us at all. However, there are also 'inside' areas of the building, so if booking, ask for this if you dod not want to be in the conservatory. Loos were modern and clean. It was raining heavily, so we could not take advantage of the modern outside bar area, ideal for a long cool drink if waiting to be seated. The place has a rather up-market feel to it rather than the usual Spanish rustic feel of most ventas. The cliental were mostly English rather than Spanish which was a shame, but then this area is only a short car journey from Espetona, which probably explains this.

Food: We had the menu del dia. This seems to change daily and consisted of a choice of four starters: chef's sald of the day, pasta salad of the day, soup of the day or stew of the day. I had a wonderfully prawny soup and my partner a white bean and morcilla stew - both delicious. For the main course, there is a choice of three fish dishes and three meat. I chose grilled hake and my partner, lamb. bother were served with chips and a vegetable side dish. There were about six puddings to choose from. There was a long cocktail list and a very comprehensive wine list, with quite a few available by the glass. Apparently the restaurant is in the Michelin guide 2012.

Service: Was excellent. One of the staff appeared to have the job of explaining the food to English speakers and he spoke excellent English, but other staff also spoke enough to communicate with non-Spanish speakers adequately.

Value: As the cheapest main dish on the a la carte menu was 11 euros, the menu del dia is excellent value and we will return next time we stay in the mountains near here.

“Viva Garcia”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

It is always interesring to read others' reviews of Restaurants that I have visited. My father used to say, ''Visiting a restaurant is like going to live theater. It can be a different experience for different people. A lot depends on the mood of the chef.''
I was taken to Venta Garcia by friends, who have been raving about the place for a good while The Restaurant has beed revamped recenly & has been done to an excellent standard.
The welcome was friendly, we were shown to our table, given menues & our drinks order taken. The drinks arrived in short order along with a basket of bread & extra virgin olive oil.
Our lunch order was taken by tjhe boss, who explained the dishes on the ''Menu del Dia,'' which at €12.50 for three courses is remarkable value. There is a choice of five starters, five mains & 6 puds.
I started with the white bean soup with chorizo & morcilla (black pudding), it was fantastic. I followed with fillet of pork grilled, with a pepper sauce on the side, & finished with Flan, Spanish creme caramel. Two of the party had the Dorada a la plancha with garlic & one had the slow roast shouder of lamb.
We washed our meal down with a very acceptable bottle of house red from the Torro region, while the fish eaters had the house white from Rioja, both at eight euros each. The bill including service & a drink on the house came to €20 per person.
In some other reviews I have read that the service was unfriendly. On my visit this was not the case, but, I understand that if the Boss is not there things can be a bit haphazard
