First time abroad for myself and family. Really interested in the D-Day side of things and needed a base to work from. The accommodation was clean and tidy and totally up to the job. The onsite shop was over the top in the way of cost. Spent a lot of time in the bar area and poolswhich the teenagers loved and you know how hard they are to please...and really saddened when we left. Visited all the D-day beaches and major towns of note Carentan, St Mere Eglise etc and totally moved by the U.S Cemetary above Omaha Beach. Would totally recommend the place as visited twice last year and stll never managed to see everything I needed to. Going again in June 2011 for a week.
If I could offer a suggestion. There could be an excursion or summat to the D-Day beaches and places of interest, that would have been a godsend.

We had a good family holiday, having chosen the week this summer that in France and Britain was grey and rainy! Fortunately we had a day or two either side to dry out. All in all a good spot for a family holiday, few negatives would be v.v. difficult to find the site once you arrive in the town, the childrens club for under fives was poor - felt pens that had run out and not much for the rainy days, the reception staff didn't seem to know the sunday mass times at the v nearby catholic church (10am if you're interested!). However, these were minor points and each evenings entertainment occupied all the family; mum, dad and 4 kids 11, 9, 6 & 4 especially the plastic ice rink that was open until 10 every night. Loads of d day stuff to occupy the kids, the good free stuff being pointe du hoc and pegasus bridge and if you're open to the spiritual Lisieux. The canvas staff on site Bob and his wife were great. Great, but I'll go to south next year to avoid the rain and get the sun.

After deciding to give Keycamp holidays a go, we chose Cote de Nacre in St Aubin Sur Mer.
Only a short drive from the Caen ferry port (first time driver in France).
We were pleasant suprised on arrival, located on edge of the town only a short walk to the sea front. Camp laid out to give each mobile home some privacy. Our Keycamp home was located right on the perimeter of the site, well away from the Main complex, but that suited us.
Fantastic swimming pools and water slides (no shorts gents! only swimming trunks), play ground, bouncy castles, ice rink, childrens club. Although we only visited the bar on the night of England first world cup game, we observed that plently of people tucking in the food from the resturant. Our 2 boys loved the kids disco, even if it was the same 6 tracks each evening.
The onsite shop should be avoided, very expensive as was the 8tilHuit shop in the town. Plenty of good & cheap supermarkets within 10 minutes drive.
Bayeux tapesty is a must visit, as well as the British & Commonwealth cemetry.
Little disappointed with the mobile home, a little rough around the edges but great having the gas BBQ to use every night, the Yelloh homes seemed newer, but would use Keycamp again.
Overall, good value for money, and a first class site.

Booked Direct with Yelloh and had their smallest cottage with terrace but still big enough for the 4 of us (Me and Husband, Son 14 and Daughter 9) Caravan is well equipped only thing missing is a kettle, good sized f/freezer and on Yelloh a BBQ. we had a quiet sunny pitch, but still close to the different facilities the campsite provides. Ice rink was great fun and NO charge, Pool was entertaining enough for the kids and there is a good space around for sun bathing. 3 supermarkets close to site open sunday mornings in July and August.
Lots to do around the campsite, We went to Arromanches (Normandy Landings)and Honfleur ( Pretty Village great for enjoying a nice lunch) on days out. In Normandy the weather can be a bit unpredictable but no different to going to Devon/Cornwall,so make sure u take a waterproof.
Service at the Campsite was very good and we had no complaints.

We stayed for 8 nights - site less than 1/2 an hour from Caen ferry. Great position for all the landing beaches and also 1066 history. Had a nice pitch at the far end of the site - it might have been a bit noisy nearer the pool and play areas. 8 year old loved the bouncy castles, football area and playground and cycling to get the bread in the morning., Of all the sites we've visited this is the only one which honestly claims to have a heated pool. One of the several pools was definitely reasonably warm. Went with Keycamp, van very clean. Would recommend.
