It is very rare, that one has the privilege of eating a meal that you know cannot be found anywhere else in the world. I am a newcomer to the West Coast and only now starting to appreciate what is on offer. Kobus does the West Coast justice. His food is Innovative, Seasonal, Fresh and Authentic. Some recipes date back to the 1930's, so very authentic. We could fault nothing and each morsel sang in our mouths. I agree with a previous reviewer, that Oep ve Koep is so far removed from Fish & Chips. The restaurant is tiny and not suitable for walk-ins as the small kitchen can only service about 16 guests max. Therefore, there is only sitting. This enables the Chef to interact with every guest, chat through recipes, wine recommendations, his own experiences etc. We had a great lunch - it was fresh, succulent and full of flavour: Tomato & Rooibos Consomme with Lobster, West Coast Mussels, Cob in Vine Leaves with Veld Spinach and a Dessert to die for. Only visit if you seriously love great food and you have time to savour each delicous morsel.
