You don't get many settings much better than this. The Voorstrandt restaurant is perched right on the beach, a stone's throw away from the ocean's edge. Sunsets from here must be glorious.
We inadvertently had two meals at the restaurant - at lunch time when we arrived in the village and again at dinner, given our hotel had booked a table for us there.
I'd say Voorstrandt is probably a better lunch time option than a dinner restaurant - you can arrive in your beach gear, have a beer and a plate of prawns and simply chill. Night time, in winter, the chill factor goes to a whole new level - we froze! There is no patio heating, no blankets are on offer.
The food is good, unpretentious, but not outstanding - good prawns iffy sauce, greasy fish and chips. It's a bit and miss.
The service is good, and the staff are friendly and welcoming.
For what you get, it's not bad value for money, but it is a casual, beach place.
