I stayed two nights and slept very well in a big comfortable bed. Although the external build is old, the interior is modern; however, parts of the old still notice such as in the dining room and the bedroom windows. A maze of corridors lead to different parts upstairs for the bedrooms. The doors have modern touch card entry systems and open into a good size modern room with a large wall mounted TV, comfy chair, desk and chair and a tray of tea/coffee makings.
The ensuite was a good size with a shower over the bath. It was a power shower and the pressure was really good.
I heard nobody all night and just a blackbird in the morning. The bed was very good.
Breakfast was fine although there was an air of utility about the room and the way things were laid out out. Maybe this is the next area to be overhauled by the management? The food was good and the coffee was decent and the waitress was pleasant so all in all it was a good all-round experience.

Room tip: Room 137 at the back was totally isolated from adjoining rooms.

Stayed here for a night without the kids. Looked at the pics and thought it would be a nice treat. Although the staff are friendly and the place is clean, it is looking very tired. Only ate their for breakfast which was nice (not spectacular), and there are a couple of nice pubs within a short walk. Heating wasn't working in our room, but this was quickly sorted with a portable heater. A flickering light in the bathroom didn't help, and the view from the window was less than inspiring. Worst part was the 06:30 wake up call from the kitchen below us, lots of door banging for half an hour. Unfortunately, there is nothing about the place or the hotel which would warrant a return.

Room tip: Ask not to be above kitchen area.

Really enjoyed our night at the Golf Hotel. Extraordinary efforts had been made to make it feel seasonal inside with a huge amount of (tasteful) Christmas décor complementing the interior of the beautiful buildings. A roaring log fire in the lounge welcomed guests, whilst the fresh bar and restaurant area provided pleasant environments for drinks and food. The bedroom was comfortable and clean and featured a large TV and impressive bed, whilst the bathroom featured a great (digital?) shower with high pressure and easily adapted water temperature. Room also had a big dressing table and a small table and chairs by a bay window that had a nice view of the grounds. Hearty breakfast, pleasant service and a great welcome too – thoroughly recommend the Golf Hotel to anyone staying in the Woodhall Spa area. Thank you and hope to see you again!

Visited for lunch recently with a party of six people. We ate in the lounge bar which was really comfortable and rather grand. Although we were only there for the afternoon it felt like a mini holiday. We all found the food excellent and reasonably priced. Served by helpful staff .
Highly recommend a visit, thank you

We stayed at The Golf Hotel & Spa, Woodhall Spa for one night, to attend a wedding reception at the hotel, we got the room at wedding rates and not the usual £120 per night.

The hotel is a AA 3 star rated hotel, with ample free parking onsite, 7 acres of land to explore and is a couple of minutes’ walk to Woodhall Spa’s shops, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. Zucci’s restaurant does amazing food by the way.

The Golf Hotel and Spa is nicely decorated and clean. Check in was quick and painless. There is free Wi-Fi, although I didn’t see it listed anywhere in the hotel information pack or told by the receptionist on check in. However, the Wi-Fi was very quick and had a good signal, even in the room.

Talking of rooms, the room was spacious and clean, with a large Freeview TV, a hairdryer, comfortable king size bed, complimentary tea/coffee making facilities and free bottled water on arrival. There is no safe in the room, but there is one in reception. The room had a private bathroom, with bath and overhead shower. The bath was a bit on the small side and you might struggle to have a bath in it to be honest. There is also complimentary hand wash and shower gel provided which is fixed to the wall. For a 3-star hotel though, I found this a bit cheap and would have expected individually branded toiletries for the price. The bathroom, I felt, could also have done with a bit of a face lift as it looked a bit tired. This let the room down somewhat.

Buffet Breakfast is included in the room rate and consists of a full English, along with cereals, fresh juices and toast. The breakfast was hot, tasty and of good quality, although service when topping up the food was a bit slow.

The hotel has a large lounge area with comfy leather chairs, sofas and a large TV. There is also a bar which is reasonably prices. A pint of lager and a soft drink was around £5.50, so on a par with pubs/bars prices.

The spa was closed during our stay so unable to review the spa facilities.

Overall, apart from the rooms bathroom, we enjoyed our stay at The Golf Hotel. It’s quiet, we slept well, the breakfast was good, and the hotel is ideally situated to explore Woodhall Spa.

Rating 8/10.
