Centrally located in Italy it is the ideal starting point for visiting all central Italy, including Tuscany. Large spacious rooms very well furnished. Meals upon request are excellent. Very friendly owners share their own lifestyle with the guests.

I found La Palazzetta through TripAdvisor and it seemed like a nice place to spend a couple of nights before heading down to Rome. Now I only regret not having spent more time here. The place is absolutely beautiful with almost 360 degrees of views across Umbria, and the accommodations are roomy, luxurious and comfortable. Stefano and Paola are totally charming hosts who do everything for their guests with a smile. The food is fantastic and everything just makes you feel very relaxed. I immediately felt at home here, and I plan to return, soon I hope!

We stayed in La Palazzetta del Vescovo for 3 nights at the beginning of our honeymoon in Umbria and Tuscany last summer. It was by far the nicest place we stayed in our 3 weeks in Italy. We were greeted in the car park with a warm smile by Stefano. He showed us to our beautiful room with a stunning view of the infinity pool and the Umbrian countryside. We felt totally relaxed during our stay. The room was luxurious and the food exquisite. Paola and Stefano are excellent hosts. We definitely intend to visit again as soon as we can.

My husband and I had a wonderful 4-night stay at La Palazzetta in November 2008. The meticulously restored and warmly decorated small hotel has large rooms, comfortable beds, and spacious bathrooms with very good water pressure. The setting is perfect, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards on a hill overlooking most of Umbria, peaceful and rural, yet close to Perugia, Gubbio, Assisi, and Orvieto, (and only two hours from the Rome airport).

The lovely setting was outdone only by the superb hospitality. Stefano and Paola, the amiable proprietors, are friendly and helpful, always available to make arrangements or offer refreshments, while at the same time always mindful of their guests' privacy.

Breakfast is delicious and varied, including homemade baked goods and local cheeses. Paola offers a multi-course dinner menu daily to guests. Suffice it to say that we planned to have dinner at the Palazzetta one night, and ended up "staying in" for dinner all four nights of our stay! Stefano is a wine expert, happy to recommend a bottle from his extensive cellar.

My husband and I travel quite a bit in Europe, and I can say that La Palazzetta is one of our favorite hotels ever. We can't wait to go back, but we need to decide to go in the summer, to enjoy the sunshine and the view from the lovely swimming pool, or in the late fall or winter to sit by the fire with a glass of wine and good conversation. Either way, we couldn't recommend this hotel more highly.

My wife and I stayed at La Palazzetta the nights of Oct. 17,18 & 19th, 2008. Our expectations were more than met--the entire property is perfectly maintained, the views are breathtaking, our suite was large and very comfortable ( old-world style, 21st century conveniences) and the dinner prepared by Paola was superb--- but the graciousness of Paola and Stefano was the real bonus. These two are so generous with their knowledge of the area, gentle in their manner and anxious to accommodate that they spoiled us for the rest of our Umbrian/Tuscan vacation and future vacations. Their suggestions for restaurants, destinations to explore, and merchants to patronize were all spot on. Upon late night returns from dinner to La Palazzetta, we were always met with interested inquiry about our day and after-dinner drinks. On the day of our departure, Paola & Stefano invited us to follow them by car to Perugia to attend the ongoing chocolate festival where they explained to us some of the history of the city --another example of them surpassing expectations. Finally, as we left our host and hostess in Perugia for our drive to Chianti, Paola suggested that it would be worth our time to stop at Cortona. As always, she was absolutely correct in her recommendation. We unhesitatingly recommend La Palazzetta as a prime option for anyone seeking an extremely comfortable , first class base of Umbrian/Tuscan exploration.
