Very nice hotel with a very good breakfast served outside at the terrace with a beautiful view. Nice clean rooms and very good customer service. By a mistake we left an item when we left the hotel. I contacted the hotel after our vacation and the the hotel shipped the item back home to Norway. This is an example of very good customer service!

We were two families stopping over on our way to the villa we had booked in Liguria seeking a pleasant and quiet place to have a good meal and a restful night. We were not disappointed. Spacious accommodation, dog friendly and spotlessly clean. Very welcoming hosts and delicious food. Perfect!

Room tip: All rooms are lovely. We had a room facing the view with direct access to the terrace outside.

We stayed for a short one night after a day in Serravalle during a cold November. The room was basic but clean. The highlight of the stay was their superb heating system, warm floor plus another heater if the warmer from the bottom was not enough. The breakfast was good, although the selection was limited, they provide juicer and some fresh fruits for you to make your own juice if you want, how ever it would better if they provided scrambled eggs instead of just boiled eggs. Hot water and water pressure was good.

The location was not that close to the Serravalle, it took us around 30 mins to reach the property.

Parking is spacious and it is free.

TIPS: Avoid travelling at night especially if you are a first timer. The road to the property was really dark.

We booked this hotel for 1 night in order to visit Serravalle outlet. After shopping we planned to enjoy a cozy dinner with our friends and with a view. However upon check in we found out that the restaurant is closed as it is not a peak season anymore. So be aware that the peak season is during the summer only.

A breakfast was average. The room was so so with uncomfortable bed. It has a small kitchen corner with a cooker.

The only advantage I found is a free parking on site.

My family and I first visited this beautiful estate in 2009. During that trip, we also had the privilege of staying at some of the best hotels such as the Park Hyatt in Milan and Paris. But what my children could remember most was their stay at Tenuta because of its picturesque countryside scenery, the unparalleled hospitality of its late owner and the unforgettable quality of food. We returned to Tenuta this year at our daughter's requests because she wanted to re-visit this charming estate. Sadly, the late owner has passed on. But the estate is still just as splendid, well-maintained and well run with an exceptional personalized touch, by the late owner's daughter. The apartments are still the best for its 3-star class, and they all open up to a stunning view. They come with good beds, comfortable bed linens, all the basic amenities you can think of, pretty good wifi and an amazing fully equipped pantry including stove and cutlery enough for a family of 5 to 6. Although cooking will not be necessary at all as the no-frills breakfast here has a sufficient spread and dinner here is really excellent despite its small selection. But if you like quality food over a large selection on the menu, you will surely not be disappointed, as attest by the sight of diners comprising of locals as well as tourists staying here. The prices are reasonable, not to mention the chef was happy to accomodate me with a pasta dish not on the menu. The view on the terrace is quaint and lovely. It is very tranquil and on our second night, we had managed to catch sight of two deer resting about 100 metres away from us as we were enjoying our dinner.  The owner had told us earlier that the deer would usually come out of the woods at about 8.30pm on a warm summer night, and true enough, the pair of deer came out around that time. Gavi is a charming little town with a popular outlet minutes away. But it is not the usual place which one might desire to visit repeatedly because there are simply too many places to see in Italy. However, I am already planning to visit Gavi again within the next year because I can't wait to go back and stay at Tenuta della Guardia again. It gave me beautiful memories in 2009, and it surely did not disappoint again this time.
