Dinner for 11 was booked by one of my local Italian friends. Pizzeria Birmana was able to accomodate the table with three children of about seven years in age and one child under 12 months in age.

This location is situated upon a villa estate and is home to several businesses, including a hotel, club, and Pizzeria Birmana. The property is lovely. When approaching the entrance of the building housing Pizzeria Birmana, one gets a sense of the whimsical experience ahead. The exterior wall is covered from floor to ceiling with bookshelves. There is a Terminator T-800 and a stuffed mountain goat acting as sentinels over the patio bar outside. Upon entering the building, you realize you are walking upon the stone carriageway of an old stable. Making a left, you enter Pizzeria Birmana and encounter its sort of New Age, Eastern Mysticism decor with the hum of electronic ambient music in the background.

Service begins rather quickly with drink orders. Pizzeria Birmana has a fully stocked bar. Water, soda, beer, wine, and mixed drinks are available. We ordered water and beer. Water was served in what appeared to at least a 1L caraffe. Beer may be ordered by the glass, pitcher, or bottle. Pizzeria Birmana has about five beers available on tap, the most notable brand being Heineken. Pizzeria Birmana also offers about eight Belgian and Dutch beers by the bottle, La Trappe being the most familiar label. I ordered a La Chouffe.

Soon, but not too soon, after drinks are served, the pizzas begin to flow. It is my understand that you may order individual pizzas, which works great for younger children, but that the true Pizza Birmana experience is having the pizza varieties served to you as the leave the kitchen and shared amongst the table until everybody decides to tap out. These pizzas are enormous and typically have two to four styles served upon them. I sampled pizzas with plain cheese, pepperoni, arugola & tomato, spinach & buffalo cheese, ham, pork, and tuna before we called it quits. The pizzas were all great and the ingredients of high quality.

Pizzeria Birmana offers a variety of desserts, coffees, and other digestives. I ordered a doppio and called it a night.

I have difficulty being honest about the value and the cost per person, as I was not allowed to pay or chip-in. Dinner was paid for my family and myself by our hosts. I rated these metrics down the middle, erring on the high side of the rating when necessary.

The quality of the location will highly depend upon where you stay and how far you are willing to drive. This location of Pizzeria Birmana is located in the middle of the area formed by the A4, A27, and A28 and was about a 20 minute drive from Brugnera, where I was lodging.

Otherwise, this was a good dining experience, one I had not yet had in Italy especially beyond the metropolitan and cosmopolitan areas of the country.
