“A Whale of a Time!”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

This was the highlight of our trip to the Maritime Provinces. The owner herself accompanied us as I understand she always does. She was so friendly and gracious - not to mention she knew all about whales and sea birds. She was full of information about whales and sea birds that we found very interesting. She directed her pilot to go further than they had all season just so we could be sure to see whales. And see them we did - even a mother and her "baby" (25-foot)!

“Most fun you can have standing up!”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Earlier this week we went on the Mariner Whale Cruise out of Brier Island. I had heard a lot about these cruises but was not expected to be so overwhelmed by the experience. Penny the owner and the ships captain clearly have mastered the art of finding and getting close to these huge sea creatures. You could feel their vibrations, feel the spray from their blows and actually touch their huge pectoral fins at times as they performed for us for a couple of hours. It was truly an unforgettable experience made even more meaningful by Penny and her crew who have a great love for and experience with the whales. We will be back!

“thrilling”

just went on a cruise with Mariner and had a fantastic time! we seen several humpbacks, including a calf, Penny and her family and crew are wonderful. Seeing whales in the wild is much more thrilling than the unhappy whales held against their will at Marineland and other fish bowls.

We had an Absolutely beautiful day watching the Humpbacks. I strongly recommend this experience. The boat was very comfortable, the crew friendly and knowledgeable and the whales put on an amazing show.

“Exceptional cruise”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

This was by far the best whale watching trip I have been on. The boat used is large enough for everyone to have a seat and also to be able to easily walk around for different views. There is also an upper platform you can reach by a ladder which gives you a 360 degree view. We "only" saw Humpback whales but we saw so many of them on this trip it was amazing. Some of the whales were so close to the boat that one even nudged the boat with it's tail. Peggy, the owner of the business, made sure that everyone had a safe and fun outing, asking if everyone had had a chance to get good views of the whales and good photos. She provided a lot of information about the area and the whales during our cruise. It never felt like we were chasing or causing stress to the whales when we were out - we would spot some whales and then go to the area and drift and let the whales decide how close they wanted to come to the boat.

On the way back to the dock Peggy offered everyone coffee/tea/hot chocolate/juice and cookies - very nice way of winding down after all of the excitement of being so close to so many whales. This was the major highlight of our two weeks in Nova Scotia and I would highly recommend this whale watching company to anyone who wants a great trip with a personal touch.
