“Darling little town stop-over in Germany!”
Reviewed February 16, 2014 via mobile

We found this place in the heart of a little darling town called Ramstein when we were traveling to Ramstein Air Base. The hotel looks like it's right out of the 1800s… Complete with a nice sitting room, great bar, and a cozy restaurant... a nice little town with shops and a couple of restaurants are just minutes away and make for a nice walk...
The rooms are very nicely modern, bright and cozy!

I stay at this hotel several times throughout the year for business, The staff is very personable and professional. Everyone makes it a point to go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and to accomadate your needs. The rooms are spacious, immaculate, and equpped to handle business travellers as well as vacationers. The Ramsteiner Hof offers fantastic accomodations with local German flair. I highly recommend you make it a point to stay here!

Room Tip: They have several different room types, and all are great. I would inquire about which room types th...

I stayed for one night whilst visiting friends in the area. The hotel is only a very short walk to the town centre. Car park has plenty of space for any type of vehicle. Ramstein Air base is about a 5 minute drive away. Rooms are a good size, well decorated and very very clean. The bed was very comfortable and not soft. The bathroom was spotless, fully tiled and with a great power shower. New phone, alarm clock, tv etc all in the room. Breakfast was fine and they will cook your eggs to order. Reception isn't manned 24 hours so they may get you to pay for your room at check in. Definitely recommend.

Been there twice now. Both times I was impressed by the cleanliness of the room (maybe it's a German thing and I'm just used to the mediocre way American hotel rooms get cleaned?).

Although not a wide variety of breakfast items, you can get eggs cooked to order and I was happy with the sandwich and cereal options as well.

I believe they offer wireless Internet - I used the wired connection in the room and found the speed to be acceptable for making a call home with Google Voice. I'm not sure if it would have supported a video call though.

Of note, the rooms do not have air conditioning. Not having been there when it was really hot, I don't know if the open window and pedestal fan will be enough on the rare occasion that it gets truly hot.

A very nice hotel that is very close to Ramstein Air Base. The newly renovated rooms were well equipped with flat screen TV and heated towel rack. The restaurant food was very good and service was good.

I travel to the Ramstein-Miesenbach area of germany a couple of times a year. I stay at the Ramsteiner-hof Hotel every time. The hospitality is unmatched. The property is privately owned and the staff is excellent. Most recent stay was in February 2012.

The Good:
The building was built around 1760 and it has a great deal of charm. It has been renovated to include the amenities you would expect in a nice hotel. Parking is convenient. The free breakfast in the morning is a great assortment of breads and cheeses, cereals, juice, hot eggs / omelet. I expect that the staff would do whatever was needed to address your needs. Great sitting rooms throughout the hotel to relax by the fire, read a book or chat with friends.

The Bad:
The beds are European style with thin mattresses and no real bed springs. They are comfortable enough, but are different than what you would expect in American hotels. Also, the comforter is relatively small.
The internet connection kept resetting itself and it would not keep me logged in for more than about 10 minutes or so.

My husband, our three year old, and myself stayed here for a few weeks when we first arrived in Germany. The place was very nice. We stayed in one of the "apartment" type rooms across the street. It was very clean. One problem we ran into was when we booked our reservation they did not tell us they no longer served dinner in their restaurant only breakfast. Nor did we understand we would have to pay for every phone call even local so we eneded up racking up a hefty phone bill while house hunting. Other than that the staff was really nice and since it's located in the Ramstein village it's a short 10 min drive to the base.
