Great place to stay when you want to avoid the fast pace of Berlin. Beautiful property in the former East Germany. Friendly staff, great breakfast, and nice bar. Lots of outdoor activities at the hotel and in the surrounding area. Great place to relax.

Room Tip: No AC, so watch the summer weather.

I would recommend this hotel If you need a calm place for R&R at a reasonable distance from Schönefeld airport (15 kms). While it is not very near the airport, it is definitely closer than any other hotel in central Berlin, without being one of those typical stop-over hotels near the airport. It is within the village/residential suburb of Zeuthen, not in Berlin, but already in Brandenburg, at ¾ hours’ drive from Berlin city center. This is why I would not recommend it as a place to stay to sightsee Berlin, but rather a place to stay if are looking for a peaceful lake-side hotel. One side of the hotel faces the lake, and the other doesn’t, so make sure to get this confirmed during booking. Also, a boat stops by and takes tourist to visit different places on the lake. The restaurant was quite good with a very interesting selection of both fish and meat dishes. The only downside would be the generall decoration, dated from sometime in the middle 80's, and the rooms, which I found to be a bit stuffy, considering they were expecting us. But it did have a mosquito-net in order to leave the terrace door open without suffering any invasion in the Summertime. And the rooms on the top floor have a small terrace overlooking the lake. There is also at least one “Panorama”-suite. The staff is friendly and have offer all possible visits to local sightseeing options like the nearby Königs Wüsterhausen Palace.

Room Tip: Request lake-side facing rooms, otherwise there's no point in staying here.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during our European honeymoon tour. We couldn't have been happier with the experience! The hotel is located within a reasonable driving distance from the heart of Berlin (about 30 minutes) and it is definitely worth it! We booked the top floor suite and it was spacious, clean, and comfortable - it came with a nice kitchenette, large bed, great views and a spacious bathroom with its own sauna. Unlike some other reviews, we didn't find the hotel to be noisy at all. If anything, we found it peaceful and quiet...unlike anything you'll find within the city of Berlin. The management and staff were very nice and accommodating; the breakfast buffet was nicely laid out and delicious as well (definitely check out their egg station!). We didn't have ANY problems with the Wi-Fi either...and in hindsight, that is not something to take for granted...especially compared to some of the other European hotels. If you're looking for a high-tech modern hotel, this place may not be for you - stay at a large chain hotel you can find anywhere in the U.S. However, if you're looking for a comfortable and old-fashioned European experience combined with hospitality and German efficiency, then serious;y consider this place!!! P.S. Check out their "barge" bar out on the lake for drinks :)

I stayed in this hotel for three nights on a conference trip.
I liked the modern interior. Rooms are very clean and the breakfast buffet is excellent.
Unfortunately I had one of the many rooms facing the parking lot. Apart from the noise the problem is its illumination. The curtains never cover completely the window and your room never gets completely dark. If this affects your sleep, bad luck.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms facing the parking lot

My Company has used the hotel several times for business events. Last week I had to organize an international conference at the hotel. The organization from our side was chaotic with colleagues changing arrival/departure times and needs for conference rooms changing.
The hotel reacted calmly and flexbilbly at all times.
The Location is great - summer or winter.

Stayed for 3 nights while my husband attended conference. The room was small and the furnishing looks like it was from the past decade. But it was clean and had the basic amenities. The staff were friendly and respond to requests promptly. We did not have the lake view which was a pity. I just enjoyed sitting on the deck facing the lake and reading. a really peaceful and tranquil place. - if u are tired from the hustle and bustle of city life. Breakfast had a wide variety and so did the lunch and dinner buffet. And it has free internet! Though it may be unpredictable sometimes but still its free and available at all times. The downside were the bed which was very much too soft and the pillows too. There was also no air-con and may get a bit stuffy at times if u do not open up the windows. However, overall experience was good given the friendly service, cleanliness, food the nice lake view.

In the Seehotel Zeuthen I stayed for a 5-day business trip.

The rooms: the rooms are of average size and show some wear. Especially the shower was below average. Take care when traveling in the summer: the rooms have no air condition! If you are sleeping with opened windows it is really loud at night. Either the garbage truck wakes you up, or the closeby street and streetcar (especially if your room is facing the street). The beds were not as relaxing: either it was too hard, for me personally it was too soft. Positive: you had free wi-fi, BUT: it was quite unstable and slow (unfortunately).

The reception desk: friendly staff, helpful. Easy check-in and check-out.

The restaurant: we had a full board. The food was average, with only little variations (call it boring, if you want to). Especially vegetarians will face some problems if they do not want to eat every day the same meal. I really liked the sun terrace, it was really enjoyable to have the meal outside.

Other hotel facilities: the hotel has a gym which we did not use. The sand beach had beach volleyball fields and it was quite clean. Unfortunately there was no real slightly descending shore, so it is better if you can swim. The conference rooms were functional, though some features were a little odd, e.g. the desk in front of the projector screen. Therefore the projector screen was somewhat hidden.

All in all: the hotel is ok for a business travel, but I would not recommend to stay there on holiday.
