“Almost perfect stay”

I spent a night at the Holiday Inn Milan Nord-Zara, and in the morning after I thought it deserved full marks: quite new, stylish, comfortable bed, easy parking, upgraded to free internet as a platinum IHG member, reasonable price...

...until I got to the breakfast room. A large group of Japanese tourists had been there until 5-10 minutes earlier, and there was very little left. I took it easy and started eating whatever was available, waiting for the staff to replenish everything. But they didn't! They were there talking to each other, but not moving at all. The closing time was almost one hour later, but they didn't seem to care. I asked for some butter and they brought me 2 portions, but that was all, no more cheese, eggs, etc, while I struggled to find a clean fork, knife and napkin among unlaid tables. It spoiled what otherwise had a been a very pleasant stay.

This hotel has something I haven't seen anywhere else: for every opening room card returned upon check-out, the hotel donates 0,25 € to charity. Nice gesture.

The Hotel is in a very strategic location, especially if conducting business in the area, though tourists will also find it convenient for easy access to M1 underground station served by Hotel shuttle (bit pricey). The Hotel is clean, comfortable, but the real plus is the courtesy of staff, which is more and more rare to find. Smiles and kindness from all the staff, from reception to cleaners, bar and breakfast area. Our requests were easily and swiftly accomodated. And the price was well well worth it. I will stay there again, for either business or pleasure, and greatly recommend this hotel.

My family of eleven members stayed here for about two weeks. We used the hotel as our home base in traveling by car to the cities around Milan, even all the way to Nice, France. The rooms were clean and the reception staff and manager provided excellent service and assistance. Wifi was available and reliable anywhere in the hotel. Of course, this is not a five-star hotel considering the competitive room rates. However, the breakfast place and menu needed a lot of improvement. Our family needed to remind the servers to provide condiments and food in the buffet table. A lot of tourist buses dropped by for overnight stays which caused chaotic traffic in the breakfast area on the following morning.

I was here with two of my colleagues for one night.

The rooms were clean. The Wifi internet access was free of charge and reception provided as many vouchers as requested. The reception staff was friendly.

The breakfast though was shockingly sub-standard. Most containers were empty most of the time during breakfast and what was provided was of lowest quality. Asking the breakfast staff only resulted in very rude replies and gestures as well as reluctant actions.

The lunch was totally overpriced for the (non-)quality of tasteless food.

We are frequent travellers and used to hotels which are not as good as we would like - but the lovelessness and absence in regards to food was surprising to all of us and a total mismatch to the 4 stars this hotel has somehow achieved to gain.

My rating of this hotel overall is still alright, as the rooms, lobby and reception were fine.

It is not the fault of the hotel, but it is an utter nightmare to find this hotel unless you are in a taxi. I drove for an extra 30 minutes late at night trying to find the entrance through a horrifice maze of roads being twice sent down a motorway the wrong way with no alternative but to drive 6km the wrong way before being able to turn around... The location and the nature of surrounding roads make it very hard indeed for my satnav to clearly explain where to go... and I travel for my job every day so it not as if I am new at finding tricky hotels!
The staff are great and try hard which in my exeprience is unusual for Italy. The food is good and the room I had was really nicely appointed, modern, and recently decorated. Yes I would come back here but it is not actually near anything and is of no use for either airport, so upon reflection, maybe not...

It is a good hotel for those who have business in North Milan. It has comfortable rooms, a mini fitness center and meeting rooms. The staff was welcoming and gave quick service. It is quite far from the city center but the hotel has a car service to take you to places you want, with a fixed price. A bit isolated, even the nearest subway is a 55 minute walk. The hotel restaurant is fine, but it is not open during holidays. During full occupancy, the breakfast buffet took a long time to refill. Anyway, there is a nearby shopping centre (15min walk) with fast-food eateries.

Location is far from city center but I knew that. The staff was really friendly and helpful so a big thank you to them for making it a pleasant stay. The breakfast was very basic but covers it's purpose.
The room as such was good, comfortable bed and pillows which is key, good choice of TV channels, flat screen etc. What was not so good is the noise level from other rooms and hallway, it feels like there is no door or isolation what so ever, so a big problem if you are a light sleeper and easily wake up. Second issue was the dirty bathroom. The worst part was the yellow seat on the toilet so it almost made me sick, they need to change them asap.

Otherwise ok for a short stay if you are in the area of Sesto.
