“Wonderful Winery to Spend Some Time”
Reviewed October 25, 2010

What a great place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! If you are looking for a place to stay in Saint-Émilion, look just ten minutes northeast. The château is situated amongst the vineyards, and sits on a triangle of land between two country roads – hence the name, Château de Môle. The château is a working vineyard, and has been completely remodeled and restored. Our room (the Malbec Room) was huge, with a new and very comfortable king size bed. The room was furnished with furniture in the bedroom and in a dining area that was between the bathroom and the bedroom. The decor really worked, and is a cross between contemporary and French country. The windows looked out over the vineyards. In the mornings, we heard tractors being revved up for the fall harvest. It was not disturbing, but rather reassuring that this year’s grapes were making its way to bottles for us to drink in late 2012. Our bathroom was huge by European standards, and the shower had a wonderful rain forest shower head. It was stocked with plenty of big fluffy towels and a fine array of toiletries.
Our host, Maryline Nouet, was fantastic! She is so incredibly helpful, friendly and good humored (She thinks her English is not good. It is excellent.). Maryline was an excellent resource. She gave us recommendations, and made reservations for us – a must for most European restaurants. Everyone at Château de Môle was very friendly! One of the men who works in the vineyards was always smiling and talking to us. He even brought us some luncheon meat one evening as we drank a bottle of wine from the area in their garden area.
We were even given a special tour of the winery, along with a private wine tasting with the château’s down-to-earth owner. The breakfast was one of the best we had on the trip, with delicious pastries and fresh bread (bought every morning), homemade jams, miel (honey), butter, delicious French yogurt, tea, and coffee.
Don't hesitate to book a room here. The value for money is outstanding! Prices just down the road in Saint-Émilion are double of Château de Môle. There are so many wonderful memories due to this great bed and breakfast. We will definitely be back to southwest France, and Château de Môle is where we will be staying!

If you are visiting the St. Emilion area- stay here! The chateau is situated amongst the vinyards. Although there is a road that runs between the chateau and vinyards, from the second floor the view makes it seem as if you are right in the fields. We stayed in Malbec, a very large corner room (more of a suite). The decor was a cross between contemporary and french country...it worked very well. King beds- very comfy. Nice breakfast, during which Maryline gave us a tour of the winery and cellars. Several dining options in Montagne which is only a 5 minute drive. Maryline helped make dinner reservations. Check out their web site- it is very accurate. I would love to return here.

We chanced on this accommodation having just looked at the Logis down the road where we had planned to stay. They could not have been more helpful. The air-conditioning was excellent, the bedroom spacious with a very large bed, wonderful bathroom (although only a, very large, shower). High quality toiletries, tea and coffee making. Breakfast we were able to have on the terrace the first day - second day weather was not so good so ate in the great room. Would assuredly return if in the area again. Have slightly marked down the sleep quality as it is quite close to an, albeit minor, road but the agricultural traffic does start early.

The accomodations in this Winery/Inn are spectacular. All are extra-large sized corner suites with great views over the vineyards (yes, there is a road, but noise is not a problem). You are well taken care iofand the bathrooms are brilliant, including a full cedar sauna in each one.
I highly recommend a stay here and while it is about a 30 minute drive to St. Emilion, there are other wine villages around for meals and , well, Bordeaux wines.

This was by far the best place we stayed at during our two week trip...... and we stayed at two five star hotels also. Our host Maryline was exceptional - so incredibly helpful and friendly and good humoured.
We actually looked forward to going back every evening. The other staff at the chateau are equally lovely. Nothing was too much trouble.
Being given the option of breakfast in your room as standard was such a novelty, and much appreciated. The breakfast was the best we had on the trip too - delicious pastries and plenty of them, fresh bread and homemade jams - tea coffee etc.
The room was perfect - literally. Huge, clean, beautifully renovated.
We were lucky enough to visit on the open weekend held every year on 1st and 2nd of May and took part in the wine tasting - the chateau's wine is very good - I favoured the 2007, while my husband loved the 2005 offering.
At Maryline's suggestion we ate at a local restaurant - delicious (but formal) and a restaurant in St. Emilion (also lovely, and more casual).
Such a treat - don't hesitate to book a room here. The value for money is outstanding! Can't say enough good things about this place, and the lovely people that work there.
Just to say that we're not the easiest people to please sometimes and I try to be as honest as I can in reviews, I find nothing more disappointing than reading great reviews only to feel let down when I stay somewhere that doesn't quite live up to its reputation. We will definitely be back.

Located just outside the town of Puisseguin and 7 kilometers from St. Emilion, the Chateau de Mole sits on a triangle of land between two country roads. The Chateau is a working vineyard and has been completely remodeled and restored. Truly, no expense was spared. The public rooms are beautiful with marble and natural woods. The tasting rooms are modern and similarly redone as are the bedrooms. The Chateau de Mole has been operating as a B&B since January, 2009

The bedrooms are huge running from 35 to 45 square meters and are decorated in true 5 star quality. They all have new king size beds. Our room (the Malbec Room) was the largest . It addition to all the modern amenities; air conditioning, room safe, and mini-bar, the room was furnished with designer furniture complete with an antique reproduction desk and table and chairs suitable for breakfast.. The windows looked out on the vineyards.

As nice as the bedrooms are, it's the bathrooms that are amazing. In addition to two pedestal sinks, our bathroom had a walk-in granite and tile shower with a rain fall shower head. The tub was a hydro-therapy tub with plenty of messaging jets and our room had it's own sauna. It was stocked with plenty of big fluffy towels and a fine array of bath products.

The website, chateau-de-mole.fr, has great pictures and descriptions. It would be fair to note that the Chateau is close to both country roads. If you are a very light sleeper, morning road noise may bother you. It was not a problem for us. The rooms run from 90 to 145 Euro per night with a good French breakfast (coffee, yogurt, fruit and pastry and jams). For this quality, this chateau is a real value.

As great as the accomodations are, the reason to stay at Chateau de Mole is the Manager, Maryline Nouet. Her friendly attitude and gracious manner welcome you on arrival. Maryline will give you a tour of the entire Chateau and even conduct a private wine tasting. She made wonderful dinner recommendations, even making our reservations. She offered great sight seeing advice. She went out of her way to set up a day of wine tasting by arranging visits to a number of chateaus, including the amazing Chateau Beausejour. She did all of this in a very friendly and easy way. My wife and I were greatful to Maryline for helping us make such great memories.
