Annapurna Hotel Tenerife
Ranked #2 of 2 Hotels in Las Galletas
Reviewed November 19, 2011

When we arrived in Tenerife we were instantly moved from our hotel of choice to the Alborada as the pool was apparently not working. Not entirely believable but we didn't moan as they said it was only round the corner and all travel expenses were paid for.
When we got there we were slightly put off by the outside appearance of the hotel (multi-storey car park/prison) but once we had checked in and got to our apartment we were pleasantly surprised. Room was lovely however somewhat noisy but this didn't bother us. We were even happier once we got down to the poolside and saw the immense pool over-looking the sea and quickly realised that for what we paid, we actually had a really good deal. I really enjoyed the food, there was always something I could enjoy and the all-inclusive bar also went down a treat!

Negatives. Not many but there were a couple, bar staff were EXTREMELY rude and would barely look at you when you wanted a drink let alone speak to you. The sun beds all need replacing as they are so uncomfortable - may sound petty but you spend a lot of time on them! A couple we spoke to had some things taken out of their rooms and didn't get their towels changed but we had excellent maid service and towels changed every other day. The hotel is vast and it depends whereabouts you stay in the hotel as to your level of service!

All in all, we had a fantastic time and for a week of cheap sunshine with no frills I would definitely recommend the Alborada.

Room Tip: Rooms on front are noisier but much more secure, take your valuables down to the pool with you just...

read some very negative reviews about this hotel after booking it at the last minute.
I have to say that these people need to come back down to earth. It is a fairly cheap all inclusive holiday..... what do you expect?
The hotel was probably very credential 20 years ago and is ready for the money thats been invested, but its very clean, spacious and easy going. The rooms are great. The bar is well presented with free flow taps for soft drinks and lager, with barmen serving ice and spirits. The restaurant offers basic food. some days it is great and some days not so great, but again, your not paying thousands so.......
The pool is very clean and typically cold for this time of year, with a small beach, providing a little warmer sea.
Theres always the bus stop outside the hotel which will take you to Adeje, Playa America and Christianos for as little as 2.50.
We met a couple who had been going to this hotel for 29 years....... tells me its pretty much ok
I enjoyed this holiday.... no thrills, but hey, I wasnt home and made some very good friends.

got back from here on the 15th nov - hotel is just like a multi storey car park but was better inside. very clean and i loved our room. here for a week and only 1 day had poor food. breakfast was usually not hot but lots to choose from anyway. the free alcohol is fab!! the entertainment was like a working men's club - we went to cristianos and americas and was well impressed. this resort far too quiet for us. the pool is immense but i don't do water so didn't go in anyway. heard it was freezing! staff were friendly and the maid service very good. also no robberies when we were there but i'd read that much about it i was ever watchful. i wouldn't go back coz too quiet but my partner sed he would.

Room Tip: avoid the front of the building - we were at the back and no probs

well i must say i did reed reviews abt this hotel before i gone on holiday (booked with low cost holidays) and i was absolutely horrified-so many of you said u've been robbed!
7 days gone in lovely appartment-nothing happend!! great!
rooms are very clean, towels changed often enaugh

however 2 bad things:
1. FOOD-very bad,no taste, overcooked not even salted-nothing good at all.we had all inclusive and ended up eating outside! drinks-juice and coffie from machine! oh please! alcohol-forget it! if u book all inclusive -prepare to spend a lot more for your own drinks and food
2.BORING-there is no fun in there, one day and u know everything about Las Galletas.Even this silly entertaining provided by hotel- animal shows-some of them ok,but everything finished by 11pm-lights of and go home!

But u can buy bus ticket 12 Euros(its like pay as u go in london)-and u can go tho another town-we spent most of the time in Los Cristianos-fantastic-beautifull beach, plenty of going on,great Disco-Isla Bonita!!! oh and restaurante with best food and delicious drinks-PETRONELA 23-on Playa Las Vistas!

ah i forgot-swimming pool is biggest i ever seen-nice!

Room Tip: we've been in 709-its groundfloor

Got back from here yesterday. Agree the hotel looks like a car park and is a bit dated. We were impressed with our room [ well really a one bed apartment) very clean and towels and bedding changed daily. Take beach towels as we have always had pool towels provided before at all inclusive we expected them and ended up having to buy some. However we were in room 228 and it was like trying to sleep in the middle of an F1 track!!!!! When we asked to move we were told the hotel was full and to sleep on the sofa bed in the lounge!!! Not ideal but slightly quieter.
The food was what I call generic everybody food. Small selection and not always very warm. There are some lovely restaurants down by the harbour though and we went out a couple of times. Drink plentiful and lots of nice friendly people around. Pool fab but cold!!!!
All in all what you can expect from a 3 star. Didn't hear about any robberies when we were there.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms that are at the front of the hotel due to traffic noise.

came to this hotel expecting the worse and did not get that.we had a clean room with clean towels daily ,and a great view from our large balcony, the pool is the best feature of the hotel and was very clean and a cool idea of having a salt water pool.i agree the food was not amazing but we ate out a couple times and when we didnt we ate in the hotel and it was nice but basic(nice fresh salad).
overall a great stay in tenerife and if you are coming here soon dont worry about the reviews its fine just be safe and dont expect 5*.

Room Tip: ask for an apartment with a sea view
