“Tenuta La Silva is a very warm and friendly place”

We stayed in La Silva for four nights with our baby and we had a great time here! We felt ourselves really at home here. Mariana is very friendly and hospitable. The dinners were also tasteful every night. The room was wel equiped and cosy decorated, and the view is beautiful and relaxing. We bought some wine and olive oil for at home, so we still enjoy it now we are back in Holland. Thank you very much!

Our group were 3 cyclists looking for a genuine " agriturismo" experience.
Tenuta la Silva was in excellent secluded situation for a relaxed holiday.
We especially enjoyed the excellent meals all made from local produce .
Marianna was an excellent cook with different meals each night, all of excellent quality.
The local wine was also excellent and good value.
Marianna was very helpful and thoughtful and did everything possible to contribute to our great holiday. The situation was ideal for touring Monte Amiata area and visiting north towards Pienza

We spent one week in july at Silva and we had the most amazing time! We were 8 adults and 4 small children and I don't think we can complain about anything! Wonderful poolarea with a breathtaking view, lovely garden and a wonderful patio/dining area to sit and enjoy dinner outside. They even have a "wood-fire"oven outside, where we made our own fabolous pizzas, steaks, roasted vegetables and bread. (Yes, we had a chef and even a baker in our group!!):-)
We also read the bad review before us, and we can only say one thing -Ignore it!
The only negative thing might be that the closest place to shop groceries (if you need more than the basics) etc is Seggiano, which is a very sleepy old village. So you need to go to Castel del Piano, which is about 15-20 minutes drive.
The last day at the house, all of us friends were talking about when we could come back to Silva again. And if we are (hopefully), this time, we would love to stay for at least two weeks!
Thank you so much for your nice hospitality and hope seeing you again!

I am not the type of person who's typing reviews very often, in fact this is my first one,but I simply have to react on the review from Marty from Stockholm.
The people from La Silva do not deserve to be treated like this. We stayed in La Silva from 8-15 august with 9 adults and children and we really had a fantastic week. And believe me: we all are used to a high level of comfort!
We put our 9 month old son every night to bed around 20.00 hr in a cool bedroom and the 4 year old kids did their nap during the hottest hours of the day also in a nice cool room. The receipe is simple: keep the windows and shutters closed during the day and open them when its evening. Ofcourse there are bugs etc around but that happens when you visit the countryside, and when you do not close windows and doors they can come inside, not inly in Tuscany but all over the world....
The house was really clean and equiped very nicely with a lot of attention for details and with compliant bedlinnen and towels in every room.
Marianna was the best host you can imagine, and we where very impressed how she managed to do all the work. She worked very hard every day, on the ranch and for us. She arranged and served a beautifull diner with fantastic wines, including a birthday cake, pizzadow to make pizza's in the oven, delivered an extra mosquitonet and even did our laundry as the washingmachine broke down!
We had a great holiday and the only bad thing about it was that it went to fast, time flies at La Silva! Next time maybe 2 weeks! Marianna and the other people from La Silva again many thanks from all of us for the lovely week!

La Silva was a disappointment to us because of several things, but most importantly because it was very dirty with lots of bugs and flies everywhere, Some bathrooms had over 50 earwigs crawling by the toilet every night. When we were reading in bed at night woodlice dropped from the ceiling on to our books. The house had 12 beds but was poorly equipped. We payed 2.100 euros to stay one week, six adults and two children. There were two functioning sunbeds, no fans or aircondition. We stayed in june and it was impossible to sleep in the heat, 40 c in the bedrooms. We bought our own fans otherwise we could not have stayed since we have two small children. There were no wineglasses (strange as it is in the middle of a part of Italy famous for its wines). The mosquitonets were torn and unsufficient. We explained our problems to the owner several times but there was no vacuum cleaner to borrow or any other solution to our problems.

We have stayed at agritourismos five times before and know that you can not expect five star luxury, but this was a badly kept house. It has a nice pool and splendid views but we will not be going back, and we wish we had picked one of the other nice agriturismos that are on offer in Italy for this years holiday.
