“Excellent food.”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Tried for the first time as other local pubs have been a disappointment. They had just had new chefs and a new menu. Food was excellent and good value. All fresh ingredients and very tasty. Need more people to try it to boost the atmosphere. Great beer too.

“Good food and tentative staff”
Reviewed September 4, 2012 via mobile

Its been a few years since we last had food here but pleased to say we had a very good experience. Good menu selection with a cheaper set menu option as well. Staff were all very welcoming and really looked after us although it was a pretty quiet night. Worth a visit though.

“A warm welcome and great food. Guaranteed.”
Reviewed February 15, 2012

Karen and Des have run the Admiral Rodney for quite a few years - and Richard and I go at least once every three weeks for lunch. We have never been disappointed. Good English cooking well presented. Today Richard had their home made soup and speciality sausages and mash; I had simple whitebait with a salad and good old fashioned fish and chips; We can also recommend their gammon or slow cooked lamb-shanks [ an evening option ] or their vegetairian options. We don't drink beer - they have a really good house wine - but they have an interesting " visiting beeer list" for affeccionados.Put the Admiral Rodney on your "Must Visit " list this Spring, and it will become one of your favorites too.

“Generous amount of beef.”
Reviewed January 11, 2012

We arrived at this pub for lunch on a wild & windy day. Not surprisingly there was only one other diner so the service was excellent.
My steak pie and trimmings was hot, plentiful and with loads of meat.
An excellent meal with good company in excellent surroundings.
There is ample car parking.
