Our stay at the RBB was fantastic! It was a perfect location for our honeymoon. We wanted somewhere that wasn't too 'touristy' (we hate resort style accommodation), was a good location for snorkelling/swimming/kayaking, and was quiet and romantic. The RBB was this! The staff were wonderful, helpful and friendly, but also left you alone for most of the time. You could use your bungalow like it was your own house, but still had the benefits of having your room made up, cleaned etc, and breakfast provided. There are only 5 bungalows on the property, and we were fortunate to have only one other couple there at the time so it was very quiet and private. We also felt very safe at this location with regards to leaving our valuables around. I would recommend this without a doubt!

I just returned from a vacation to the Cook Islands where I had the pleasure of spending 7 nights at the Rarotonga Beach Bungalows, followed by 5 nights in Aitutaki. Everything that we needed was at "RBB": well-maintained snorkel gear, a fabulous beach, kitchen facilities, A/C when we needed it, a big and comfortable bed, and even a washer and dryer at our disposal. The morning breakfast was enough to get us going (cereals, toast, juice, really good coffee, and fruit, which includes the tastiest papaya ("pawpaw") that I've ever had. The 5 bungalows are set up in such a way that you can choose to have privacy, or wave at passing neighbors. There are 3 beachfont bures and 2 bures just behind, but situated to allow for an amazing view of the lagoon no matter where you stay. We stayed in Tupa, one of the rear bungalows and spent many an evening on the porch enjoying beers and taking in the view. During our stay, the 10 people in the bures quickly moved from casual waves to sharing daily experiences to coordinating events together. The staff was friendly and Tom the owner and Mary the manager made sure that we had everything that we needed. Lucky is an absolutely beautiful soul who did everything in her power to make us happy (which was not difficult, as we were a pretty mirthful group) and seemed to brighten every time she made someone smile.

For those of you looking for luxury accommodations, you may face a couple of challenges here - the only internet available is in the office during certain morning hours on a single computer. Our group was really good at sharing and taking only 10-20 minutes of time when others were waiting. Also, due to tidal movements, the beach chairs have to be dragged up and down to the beach each day. The people at the front bures let us leave our chairs in front of their huts, which helped. These are very small inconveniences when staying in pure paradise, which is what Rarotonga.

When we return to Rarotonga, we will definitely book at RBB. The value can't be matched!

What we did while there: Scuba with Dive Rarotonga, Snorkel trip with the fun guys, Snorkel off the beach, Cross-island trek to the Needle with Pa, sampled restaurants (loved Vaima, Waterline), went to Whatever Bar night club

Room Tip: Every bure has a great view!

My wife and I are from San Diego , Ca. and travel a lot and we had one of our best vacations on the Cook Islands at the Rarotanga Beach Bungalows. It is only 5 units and the staff is excellent and know you by name. The location is great and the bungalows are big and nice and clean. The staff gives you the inside information on places to eat, etc., so you feel like your part of the Island.
I highly recommend this place and would stay here again and again as many other people we have met do.

Frank Rogers

Room Tip: Ocean front is the best but any unit is great

RBB is the best find on the island. Wonderfully located on the south side of Rarotonga, on the beach - best sunsets - gentle breezes, make this place very special. Hosts "Luckey" is a 'peach and 'Tom knows all the answers on how to make your visit the 'best' for your style of holiday. Laying on the beach at night, with your loved one, watching the "Southen Cross" is remarkable! Food is pricey so the 'self catering feature' made for some romantic meals at the bungalow. Highly recommended!

Rarotonga Beach Bungalows is fantastic. Of course they're right on the beach and the scenery is beautiful. The bungalows themselves are great. What really sets them apart, though, is the service. The staff really goes above and beyond the make sure you feel at home and enjoy your stay. On future visits to Rarotonga I won't even need to look around, I just know that I'll stay at Rarotonga Beach Bungalows. Visit their website at http://www.rarotongabeachbungalows.com/

It it hard to describe how beautiful the location and these bungalows are but I wanted to try to express how grateful I am for having the opportunity to vacation here. The units are simple yet very well designed and decorated to suit the island. Huge covered lanais which open out from the living room through large sliding doors, make it possible to watch the tropical rains or escape the intense sun while enjoying the everchanging, amazing views. The location is perfect for hours of snorkeling and kayaking directly in front of the bungalow in the protected lagoon. The white sand beach was fantastic for lounging or long walks. Air conditioning in the bedroom was welcomed and the outdoor shower lovely. The daily housekeeping was great and every request responded to graciously by our hosts. I would recommend you grab your spouse/ partner, a good book, a few cds, perhaps a Scrabble game, some duty free beverages and get on the next flight to Rarotonga Beach Bungalows. The direct flight from LAX, only 2 hour time difference, less expense than a similar trip to Hawaii, attention to detail by the RBB staff, all in such a dreamy tropical setting, will have us planning our 3rd trip soon.

We stayed at the Rarotonga Beach Bungalows for a week on our honeymoon. The grounds were well kept and the place was quiet, with only 5 bungalows on site. Each bungalow has its own spacious porch with fantastic lounge chairs! The villas themselves were large with a main living room and kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking tools, fridg, and microwave. There is a separate bedroom with a closet and tv. Our biggest complaint about the Rarotonga Beach Bungalows was the bed/pillows; king sized but not comfortable. The hotel serves breakfast every morning with fresh fruit, bread, coffee and cereal. It was nice to chat with the owner, Tom, each morning about our trip and get recommendations. He was very nice and is very good at what he does.
The villas were not sleek but they were comfortable and were filled with great local arts and crafts. The location was outstanding! We were able to do great snorkeling right in front of the place. We had a lovely time! If the beds and pillows were replaced, we would absolutely recommend this hotel
