Langal is the best B&B we have used. Norma & Murray, the hosts, are very helpful & friendly. The whole place is spotlessly clean. Rooms are good with a comfortable bed, good quality linen, hospitality tray, hairdryer & toiletries. We had room 1 which has a spectacular view of the Loch. The breakfast was always superb with a choice of menu. There are a lot of walking places about & the Cuillins too for the climbers. Langal has a drying room for boots & wet clothes. Carbost is a quiet but pretty area, great for relaxing. Try the Talisker distillery, & the Old Inn, both about half a mile away. There is the Sligachan hotel for food also, but it is expensive & not very good.

We stayed here one night and while Carbost is a little off the beaten path on the Isle, it's that much more beautiful for that reason. Langal is situated with the most beautiful view over one of the lakes. The pros are that the room and bathroom was very clean, breakfast was delicious and the hosts quite friendly and happy to help advise of some good hiking places (which are not to be missed! They showed us how to get to the "fairy pools" and it was undoubtedly the most scenic hike we've ever been on). The cons are that the rooms are small, to the point that we struggled on where to put our suitcases, so you don't want to be spending any amount of time in them. Also, we were in the first room which doesn't have an ajoining bathroom (its across the hall). Not ideal but not the end of the world either. It was a good place to stay but I can't say it was anything super special.

Room Tip: The first room has a beautiful room but no adjoining bathroom. I think the second room still has th...

We stayed for 4 days at Langal and we left with a broad smile and many good memories.

The hosts are very helpful and warm people that don't mind to share some of their time to have a little talk with the guests. The scottish breaksfast is simply delicious, with many food choices available.

Our room was a comfortable twin bedroom which included a sink, a closet and a small TV. We had a spacious bathroom for us next to the room. There is also WiFi connection available.

The B&B was located in Carbost, which is a great starting point to explore the Isle of Skye (it is just 20 minutes from Portree and the closest gas station).

Spent a very comfortable week staying with Norma and Murray Ewen at Langal whilst doing a bit of walking in the Cullins with my brother. The house is situated at the edge of Carbost village overlooking the water but walking distance from the Old Inn and village shop. The beds are comfy, the water is hot, the rooms are thoughtfully put together with a nice coffee/tea tray, good quality toiletries and a hairdryer which actually blows. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. The drying room is a godsend if you come down from the hills bit damp and means you don't have to carry muddy clothes and boots into the hosue. The dehumidifier turned my soggy waterproofs into dry ones overnight. The breakfasts are lovely with local free-range eggs and lots of choice and quantity. Packed lunches were imaginatively put together and ideal for hungry walkers. Best of all was the friendly welcome from both Murry and Norma who were always happy to chat and suggest things to do in the evenings. We're already planning our visit for 2012.

Room Tip: There is one en-suite double room; the other two rooms share a bathroom. Bring a dressing gown if y...

Stayed one night - stunning views, spotlessly clean and excellent breakfast. Good chat with the hosts after breakfast, very friendly and informative about the area. Room was small with en-suite - again spotless and very comfortable - however back garden view. Good value could not fault this. Location - you can only experience it!

We spent 2 nights at Langal B&B and I can recommend to anyone. The place is perfect, the rooms are cosy, nice but a bit small. Everything was very clean, the shared bathroom was very modern and beautiful and also clean. The breakfast was huge and delicious. The owners are friendly and helpful, they suggested some things what to see in Skye.
Carbost is perfect place to start your Skye tour and Tallisker distillery is just a few minutes by car from the house.
One of our rooms had lake-view, and the breakfast room looks to the lake too.

We chose to stay at Langal’s Bed & Breakfast because of its proximity to the Talisker Distillery. It is also close to the Old Inn, a wonderful pub in Carbost. We stayed for two nights. The house and room were impeccably clean. Our bedroom was small but serviceable with an en suite bathroom carved into the corner of the room. I do find it rather amazing how they manage to fit so much in so little space. We are not fans of double beds, but the bed was very comfortable so no complaints. The breakfast is served in a very bright, cheery room with a nice view of the loch below. The breakfast was good and filling. Norma, the innkeeper, gave us good advice for our drive around Skye and we found Norma and her husband Larry to be friendly and fun and interesting to talk to. Langal’s Bed & Breakfast is very clean and comfortable. The area is very quiet and the views from the house are wonderful out over the loch. The only negative we found is that there is not common space outside of the small bedroom to sit in the evenings. But, in general, we liked it very much and would recommend it.
