I booked this place on the recommendation of the local tourist office. It was for a meal for a group of pensioners on a day trip. Everything from the initial enquiry to the actual meal was 1st class.
Food good and well served. Management and staff friendly and helpful.
Coach parking was a bit difficult and the driver did not want to leave the coach parked in the nearby bus stop so did not come in for a meal. The staff made up a box of fish & chips and a dessert to take out to her. This was very well received!

Wonderful food, huge breakfasts, convivial staff.

Stayed one night while doing Hadrian's Wall. Had a modern four poster with double-ended bath. Nice warm(quite large) room, very comfortable bed, hairdryer, heated towel rail made it easy to dry damp clothing; nice toiletries.

Expected it to be noisy as over the bar but although downstairs was buzzing it was nice and quiet in the room

Thoroughly recommend it

Room Tip: Some have shower and some have bath so best to ask if you have a preference

This pub/hotel had lovely rooms, helpful staff, plenty of parking, a fab fried breakfast and was in a great location. It was our base for two days of exporing the Hadrian's Wall countryside - and although it is about 20 minutes drive to the main touristy sites, Corbridge has the bonus of being a lovely village full of cute shops and pubs that do great food. We paid out nearly £100 for a four-poster double room as it was the only room available - £10 more than the standard double. It did feel a little pricey for what we were getting, especially when there were a few little tiny, niggly things that were wrong with the room, such as the shower/bath tap not working properly and the room was very hot. But it was still a great place to stay.

Room Tip: I don't think the four poster room is worth the extra cost

The 'sheaf is a great place, and Del and Linda really take pride in what they do. My family and I stayed here for my wedding in Corbridge, and renting out every room in the place was fantastic. It was like we had the place to ourselves for several days, and the service was perfect. We didn't drink a lot at the place, but the food we had was great. In fact, we even had a barbecue for a couple dozen out on the patio! We all really look forward to getting back to the 'sheaf as soon as possible.

Room Tip: Room 2 is the largest and can accommodate three people. Rooms 5 and 6 have a door connecting them, so if you've got two couples moving back and forth, it's great.

We were visiting Hexham races with friends and stayed 2 nights at the Wheatsheaf. The rooms were very stylish with quality furnishings and a lovely comfi bed. The food was fab we had breakfast and a dinner ( the porridge was 2nd to none). Del and his satff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. We had a great night on Saturday the atmosphere in the bar was great with locals and visitors. An ideal location for the beautiful area. Would return and recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: We were given the twin room and they put the beds together which made a huge bed in a lovely large room.
