Wald cafe is a restaurant with a undoubtable charme for a romantic dinner. It is located on the top of a small hill and it offers a worderful sight on the valley below by a huge corner window that covers the entire place. In the evening, the atmosphere is magic.
The menu is typically German with some Italian variations and it has a selection (maybe a little bit small) on vegetarian and fish dishes. The meat section is instead wide and well supplied with a wide choice spacing from beef and pork to wild ragout and duck al served with different side dishes. The price are reasonable for a high level restaurant and the quality of food that it offers, about 30 eur for the most expensive meat dish and between 12 and 15 eur for a vegetarian dishe. I wanted to try a vegetarian one and I had goat cheese ravioli with rucola, nuts and tomatoes. Unfortunately ravioli were a bit overcooked but the taste was good and they were fresh made. My colleguaes had meat and they were satisfied of their choices. The dessert was great. I had the Wald Cafe variation that includes six small finger food dessert with several specialties, from fruity panna cotta to cream brulee with poppy seeds, to a tropical fruit sorbet and a chocolat mousse with cherries.
Also for the ones that wants to spend less and eat well with less sophisticated dishes they have Fritz, A smaller restaurant directly connected to the terrasse garden that can accomodate every wallet.
The service was friendly, attentive and they even had menu in English for our guests.
It is surely a place to raccomand to friends.
