My wife an I stayed here for two weeks with our son and my mother.
I had researched the apartments location in the quant rural village of Centenaro a 5 to 10 minute drive from Desenzano so I found the property quite easily after an hours drive from Bergamo Airport.
The apartment is in a courtyard setting with a lovely shared pool as it's focal point.
We settled in quickly and found the neighbours (all Italian!) to be very friendly particularly to our 5 year old son who was soon being invited to play, despite the language barrier.
The local trattoria served up simple reasonably priced food and the Tabacchi (bar) is owned by a guy who is half English/Italian.
We found the village to be a great location to explore Lake Garda and it's many beautiful attractions, but a car is essential in order to do so.
One word of warning to pasty faced Brits like us! .... Take plenty of mosquito repellent and ointment, the warm and humid climate combined with the lush greenery made us a very tasty alternative.
We would be happy to recommend the apartment to anybody who is a confident driver on the continent and wants an authentic Italian stay moments away from the hustle and bustle of Lake Gardas main resorts.
