I have to say, staying in a castle is really an interesting notion - it was beautiful, but I wouldn't say it was up to par for sleeping arrangements or food.
The owners are very nice, and will talk with you for a long while - especially about their wine, which is fabulous, and cheap!!! I recommend buying some!
The rooms - we got a double apartment - and, unfortunately, one of the couples will be left with 2 single beds - and, these aren't the standard single beds, but beds that are even smaller - and not long enough if you are tall. I am unsure what the other apartments are like - you might want to check up on this before booking. The bathroom is shared as well, and there is no shower - just a tub with a handheld shower attachment.
Breakfast is best to be skipped - not enough to fill even the most light of eaters. It was basically coffee, tea, and bread - sometimes they would have cold cereal out, but no bowls in which to eat it in. And, the staff is not very attentive when at breakfast - basically, they leave you alone, and you need to get up and bug them for more coffee, etc.
Overall, it was an ok experience and accomodations - especially for what I hear you get in the rest of Italy.
