“Sadly we arrived when it was closed”
Reviewed April 9, 2012

a long walk from the train station - no visible tax- then it was closed, the habit of clsing 1 to 4 pm, ripped off in close-by bar, well overcharged for beer and they said they did not understand us

“A magical house well worth the climb from the station”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

This is one of the most atmospheric houses I have ever visited, although my visit was made all the better by having the whole place to myself on an unseasonably warm March afternoon.
The directions in my Rough Guide were a bit misleading. The easiest way to get there is to turn right out of the station and head straight up the Corso Butera until you get to Corso Umberto (15 minutes). Turn left down there all the way to a roundabout (5 mins). The VIlla Palagonia is tucked away on the left.

“Beautiful palace”
Reviewed March 5, 2012

I wanted to see this palace in reality after having seen the film Baaria. I was not disappointing in her beauty, it has some beautiful rooms and statues. However, the palace is partly opened, the rest is closed (not conservated already) or there are people living in it. Be sure that you prepare how to come there because it's hardly indicated.
