“We love it!”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

Located in an ancient little town is a very good restaurant & some nights it's also a Spaghetteria! For summer outdoor seating, a beautiful view, and a good diiner, this is the place. Inside, very cozy and newly remodeled. To say the service is great is an understatement. Yuri, the owner of the restaurant is a wonderful person and very kind and detail orientated. He and his family run a great business! My husband and I stayed in the hotel owned and run by the family, and the Bastarda Rossa was so good, we ate there 2 nights!
Its hard to remember which meal had what dishes, but I can list, overall what we had: fresh spaghetti with sausage & mushrooms (procini!) & my husband had the sausage & mushrooms picci (another kind of pasta)... buschetta with roasted peppers, the stuffed rabbit (AMAZING), slow roasted beef, the filet of beef, oven roasted potatoes... We also asked for mixed salads and they brought us some right away. The dessert list is great too and includes typical italian favorites such as panna cotta & various tartes.
The house wine is excellent and there is a good selection of digestifs.
If you get the chance to visit Arcidosso, make sure to plan this for your trip!

“Great local specialties”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

A great place to stop if you are in the Amiata area.

We enjoyed very much the antipasti (especially the cheese and pear tortino), great primi (I suggest the chestnut ravioli with wil boar ragu sauce) and secondi (meat seems to be excellent). Service was good, and the owner is very knowledgeable about the area, so definitely ask for advice if you are planning to visit Amiata or the surrounding villages.

The house (red) wine, a Montecucco, is great, as are the local Chestnut beers. Prices are reasonable, on the low range of what you expect for a similar place.

It took us a little while to locate the place, but it was definitely worthy.

The restaurant has a paved terrace which looks out over the valley and the sun setting over the hills. Beautiful!
