Castello di Razzano

I had such a fantastic experience at Castello di Razzano on my previous visit that I wanted to comeback for a few days during my honeymoon this month. I booked a room for 5 days. Upon arriving in Italy we decided to change some plans and stay a few extra days at CdR if anything was available. I sent them a message and asked about the possibility of coming a few days early. Federico responded almost immediately. They did not have our room available, but upgraded us to a beautiful HUGE room for the first 2 days for the same price as our other room. The castle and grounds are breathtakingly beautiful, but it is the hospitality of the staff and the owners that make this so special. It's the comfortable and warm vibe that will keep me coming back to the most beautiful and underrated region of Italy. Monferrato in the Piedmont region is as beautiful as Tuscany without the hordes of tourists. Castello di Razzano is in a perfect location to allow for day trips to Asti, Alba, Torino and the Langhe region. If you want an authentic Italian experience with all the beauty of Tuscany at a fraction of the cost, consider Monferrato and I highly recommend that you stay at Castello di Razzano.

This is a wonderful hotel, in wonderful surroundings, staffed by wonderful people. We had a stunning room, with spectacular vineyard views. It was very well appointed, and serviced thoroughly each day. The breakfast menu was extensive and included in the tariff, as was broadband internet. As an aside, I often wonder why the chain name 4 & 5 star hotels charge exorbitant internet connection fees; to me it is a rip-off. If a property of this quality can do it inclusive, I have say "get your acts together Hyatt, Hilton, Raddison, park Royal, etc, etc!"

There is also a great cellar tour and a wine shop selling the Estate's fine produce. I recommend you take some home for liquid memories.

We'll be back!

Room Tip: In summer, pick a room on the shaded side of the Castello, and enjoy a cool drink while taking in th...

This was our 4th visit to the Castello di Razzano that should say it all, we love this property and the family that runs it. From the moment you drive up to the property you know you are in paradise and every part of this property from the gardens to the rooms are beautiful. The wines are some of the best in Piemonte region. We hope that that we will return for many years to come.

The picturesque castle is right in the middle of vineyards hills. It gives you a peaceful feeling. Rooms are big and in country style. In the castle you can visit the wine cellar and wine museum: interesting with all the old original instruments. Breakfast is good: ham, fresh bread, home made honey, home made marmellade, etc. Just the right place to go in order to relax, make bicycle tours and enjoy good food.

The Castello di Razzano was a great place for us to end a three week visit to Italy and Southern France. Great rooms, public spaces, and views. The hosts could not have been nicer. Their small museum was interesting. They also directed us to dining places in the area, which are often challenging to find.

Wow - this place was absolutely stunning. Our suite - a double superior - was well appointed, immaculate, large and had lovely views across the vineyards. Breakfast each day was a good continental spread and of course great coffee. We only stayed 2 days but left feeling supremely relaxed - couldn't help it n such peaceful surrounds! We particularly loved the banana lounges they had set up overlooking the hills - perfect for watching the sun set after a day of exploring. Reception was very helpful in making dinner reservations at local osteria and they even explained my partners food allergies so that the restaurants were prepared and we didn't have to fumble with our phrase book! Would definitely recommend to anyone - only sad that we couldn't stay more than 2 days.
