“Fabulous B&B - highly recommended”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

We couldn't have asked for more from our two day stay at Dal Duca. From the moment we walked in - the beautiful rooms, the lovely fresh clean smell and the high quality extras - we knew it would be a great stay. The next morning only added to the experience, when we were treated to a delicious buffet breakfast, that covered everything (and more) we could possibly want to get us started for the day.
Dal Duca is very highly recommended, particularly for family groups as you can rent out the two rooms and effectively have the place to yourself. Clara is also a wonderful host who was keen to accomodate our needs.
Vigevano is a great place to stay, not only to see the place itself (beautiful square and great local restaurant, Rococo) but as a base from which to visit Milano (easy 30min train trip away),
Great value for money and we will certainly use again.

This is the kind of place that you find and don't want to post anything on TA about it because you want to keep it a little secret for yourself--but that wouldn't be fair to the owners or to our fellow travelers. So here you go: book this wonderful b&b right now without hesitation, and there's no way in the world you will be disappointed. How's that for an endorsement. What makes this so wonderful? It's a two-bedroom b&b which is perfect if you're traveling in a small group, because you essentially get a two-bedroom flat with a little kitchen and sitting area to use. The decoration is tasteful, and everything is IMMACULATELY clean. What can you think of that might make your stay more comfortable? A shaving kit with a razor and shaving gel? Check. Screens on the windows? Check. Extra clean, fluffy pillows in the armoire? Check. The owners live in the same building and are so incredibly friendly and kind. We were leaving at 6:15 am to catch a flight in Milan. Clara offered not once, not twice but THREE times to get up early and make us breakfast and coffee before we left at this ungodly hour (and that morning was a holiday in Italy--when's the last time you offered to get up before sunrise on a holiday to help anyone do anything?), and even though we convinced her not to come in and make us coffee, etc. in the morning, she still left us little bags tied with red ribbon filled with various sweet and savory croissants and pastries to take with us and eat on our way to the airport. The apartment is within easy walking distance of everything you'd want to see and do in Vigevano. This small and lovely town is surprisingly lively: we were there for only a few hours one evening on a holiday, and we experienced a beer and food festival inside the castle complex where friendly teenagers let us share a picnic table with them and saw two cover bands which were both fantastic--one was doing ska covers of Michael Jackson and Nirvana which sounds strange, but it worked. People were dancing around in the streets with abandon. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

Dal Duca is a lovely little B&B in the heart of Vigevano's old town, a couple of minutes walk from the main Renaissance square. The rooms are comfortable and furnished with taste. Ours had a sunny terrace and overlooked a quiet courtyard. Clara is efficient and kind. We have food intolerances and she did her best to accommodate us.

I wasn't expecting Dal Duca to be as awesome as it was. It's a tiny b&b with only 2 rooms, so I was thinking it would be someone's nice spare bedroom. It's not. It's small but totally private and professionally set up. The B&B is an entire separate apartment with the two bedrooms and bathrooms set up as gorgeous guest suites. The living room is a nice lounge area and the kitchen area was set up with a juicer, an expresso maker, and plenty of snacks for guests.
My room had a balcony (I think the other didn't) and the bathroom was huge. Literally the nicest hotel bathroom I've ever seen. The location is half a block from the piazza, so it couldn't have been closer to the center of town.
The only tiny minuses are that my boyfriend and I had one set of keys to share to get in, so we couldn't really split up too much, and that the king bed we had was made up of twins pushed together (you could feel the crack in the middle). But those are small details. e never actually asked for another set of keys, so there may have been one and the bed was very comfortable. I would stay again in a second. It's was a really great place to stay and I recommend it to anyone. I would go so far as to say it's probably the best hotel in town.

Room Tip: For long stays, I think better rates are possible.
