Owner description: Trek through the world's largest indoor rainforest, take in the sights and smells of our Mediterranean Biome, and explore our huge outdoor gardens. At the Eden Project you'll discover the fascinating relationships between plants and people. You'll also find a full calendar of family events throughout the year and music festivals in the summer. As an educational charity we run transformational social and environmental projects locally and internationally.

It seems you either love the Eden Project or you hate it. Count us in the first group. We arrived at the very start of the day so we had the place almost to ourselves for the first hour. Staff were without exception really friendly and helpful. The outside areas are beautifully planted and a joy to walk through. The rainforest biome was the highlight for us, the Mediterannean biome a bit of a disappointment in comparison. We found the explanations helpful and appropriate - educative without being too preachy. I think you have to go to Eden knowing what to expect: it's not a theme park nor a stately garden, it's an ecological experiment. And as such a great success and pleasure.

my elderly mother needed a buggy to go round the site. The staff were friendly extremely courteous and the whole procedure was incredibly efficient - from the buggy to meet us in the car park to the driving lesson on the electric wheelchair . The whole experience was fantastic. thank you all

The Eden Project has a clear agenda to educate its visitors about the environment and encourage us to think about how we treat the world. Whether one engages with this or not, there are a lot of beautiful plants to be fascinated by and the setting is pretty amazing (as is the architecture of the biomes).

It's not cheap, granted, but the entry fee allows return visits within a year.

To save money, visit another of the 'Great Gardens of Cornwall' first and get your leaflet stamped. This will get discounted entry to others in the leaflet, including the Eden Project. (And some of the gardens on the list are National Trust.)

The Eden Project is always more crowded in bad weather but there's a lot to see outside so it's worth visiting on a good day if you can: fewer people *and* you get to enjoy the outdoor stuff.

This project was astounding to visit. Once in St Austell it is very easy to get there as there is a direct bus from the train station to the project. There are luggage lockers that you can use while you meander around the project. Take your time. The educational information for the displays is first class, as is the Eden Bakery. I would recommend visiting this place whether you are single or a family, as there are lots of things to interest children too. Inspirational.

We`d been down Cornwall a few days and was overcast and miserable.. however when we got to the project the sun came out and really improved the day.

We had 4 adults and 3 kids (ages 15, 10, 4) and they thoroughly enjoyed it, as there was a lot of activities for them outside the large domes... so all the running around absolutely drained them, in so far it was the only night in the week of camping where they were "out for the count" within minutes of getting into their sleeping bags.

We thought the tropical biosphere was excellent, as it was a huge place and had every type of plant / spice that you could think of... it you do go all the way around sample the bamboo smothie they have in there, (I think this was it), as it tasted great.

We found the mediteranian biosphere was a bit of a let down as it can be got around in a tenth of the time of the other one,.. Other than this their canteen (located between the domes) was excellent and served up a great meal, and even better cakes..

Also found staff were excellent... one of the little ones fell and grazed her knees and elbows quite bad. We took here into the entrance centre (as we were right next to it) to ask if they had a small plaster, and the staff were fantasic with the care they gave here, (little one even sneaked a small icecream from them out of it)...

In all a good day out!!!
