We stayed in the hotel on the night of our after wedding party which we had in the back function room. The staff are really lovely and super friendly, the rooms are spotless, well equipped, the bed is very comfy too. We were at the front of the building, but heard no traffic which was great. The breakfast was brilliant, loads of choice, and nothing too much trouble.

A party of 12 of us stayed at this hotel Frid-Mon 10thJanuary 2014. First impressions were good, lovely friendly staff. As we arrived late we were offered Hot soup and sandwiches served by friendly staff. The hotel is nestled in the heart of this small town, it is imaculately clean with Tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast was delicious served warm on hotplates, plenty of choice including salmon&scambled eggs, and many locals popped in also at this time for food another good sign.
I have been lucky enough to have had dinner here also which once again was fantastic, good value for money
I think this Hotel is a little Hidden Treasure and would definately come back!! Thanks to all staff for your attention to ensuring we all had a good holiday :)

Room Tip: Our bed was a little small but we are used to a super king size at home. All rooms which our party stayed in were quiet and restful

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst attending family funeral. Breakfasts were tasty and the "Full Irish" certainly filled me up, with re-fills of coffee available. The breakfasts were also popular with the locals. The funeral meal consisted of 2 courses for over 60 people and it arrived with a choice of 2 main courses (Beef & Salmon) and a sweet. There was plenty of meat on my plate with a choice of vegetables. The staff were helpful and friendly at all times

I stayed at the Gateway Hotel for two nights in November 2013 I was among 16 guests and we all complained about no hot water and although we kept getting told that it would be sorted it never was, the hotel people were under the impression that tepid water constituted HOT.
The Hotel is rather seedy and needs some TLC.
The lift smelt so bad that it made your eyes water.

Room Tip: Room 110 was ok and quiet at the back of the Hotel.

I booked a dinner for my recent birthday, the party consisted of twelve ladies,so we booked the dinning room for our evening.
We were served by a lovely friendly waitress who could not have been more helpfull.
The menu was varied and the food arrived hot and very tasty.
I was amazed that such a hidden treasure was here in the heart of Mayo.
There was music in the bar afterwards which was great. it seems they have live music every Saturday.
Well done to the management and the team for giving us such a great evening. We will be back
