I can honestly say the the Tormaukin hotel is the best dining out experience I have had in a long time, I don't live to far away from here and don't know why I've never been before, but I will be back.. Great friendly service from the start all the way through the evening, the food was lovely the atmosphere was just right. There is not one thing I could complain about on my visit so to all the staff at the Tormaukin keep up the good work

Have visited Tormaukin twice in past 2 months...wanted to stay somewhere with some character well did i find it. What a gem of a hotel...lovely drive to it from either kinross or gleneagles set the scene. Arrived to lovely log fire in reception not a huge hotel if thats what your looking for. Went up to our room 6 which was lovely and as we opened the door so cosy. Spotlessly clean and bed was comfy you could not find fault, bathroom looked as if had not been long refurbished corner shower, and nice shower gel etc which you expect from large hotels. We were asked if we would like to book a table for dinner ..what time would we like,,,7,30 i said ...would 6.30 be ok ...i thought perhaps the chef wanted home early lol....went down for a drink in bar which is quaint people in with dogs...then shown to dining room ..beautiful...chef wanting home early i think not by 7.30 it was packed...the food was absoloutely fantastic couldnt believe we had found this gem. Breakfast had good choice full grill all cooked perfect and lovely and hot... plus fresh fruit etc. So when away on a trip again we were running late decided to phone see if we could stay over ..yes..once again a lovely room 11 and it was beautiful with roll top bath. Breakfast was even better this time as "proper" sausages with no herbs lol ..could not ask for more. Look forward to my next excuse to stay over.Well done to the owners who have got it so right.

Room Tip: any room would be lovely i think...we had room 6 and room 11.room 11 has roll top bath with shower a...

Really happy you have enjoyed your stays with us recently. The restaurant is always really busy at weekends, we just can't fit enough tables in! We now try to contact all of our weekend residents during the week before arrival so they can get a table at the time they would like (or as near to as possible) however this is sometimes not possible.

Hope to see you again in the near future, and we will make sure to get you sorted in the restaurant for the time you would like.

All the best,
Fraser

Me and my partner have been here a few times now and every time the staff are lovely and friendly and we are welcomed with a smile. The food is tastey and well presented and being a chef myself I have a high standard. The one thing I would say is that every time we come we ask for our bill and its never brought to us when we ask. Every time we ask we wait at least 10minutes and then we have to re ask for the bill before its finally brought to us, then, they never come back to the table so we can pay, always have to go to the front desk or bar to clear the bill. Every other aspect of service is great, please don't ruin the over all enjoyment of our meal by making us impatient at the end with payment delays. It always makes us leave on a downer.
Overall lovely, just a friendly word of advice.

Hello there,

please accept my apologies that you have not received your bill, absolutely no excuses from us as its not exactly a difficult thing to do! Our waiting staff usually ask guests to make their way to the bar to pay, as our credit card machine struggles with signal strength (architects in the 1700's didn't really design buildings with bluetooth in mind, how inconsiderate of them!) I have reminded them of this so hopefully the problem does not arise again.

Happy you enjoyed the other aspects of your meal, hope to see you back again in the future.

All the best,
Fraser

Stayed overnight last Friday. Excellent rate of £60 for room and breakfast. Room 2 was in the main part of the hotel. Room was lovely. Dined in the restaurant that night. Food was delicious and portions were plentiful.
All the staff are lovely and make you feel so welcome. Will definitely return.

Really happy you enjoyed your stay, we always prefer to have a full house of happy guests that are getting value for money than 2 rooms of people thinking they have been ripped off!

Hope to see you again in the future,

This is our second stay at the Tormaukin and was every bit as good as the first. The staff are very friendly from the reception to the dining room. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the food is varied, well cooked and plentiful. Would really recommend and we will be back.
