“Convenient and excellent value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

The hotel was a bargain at 70 pounds for the night. It is only a 5 minute drive from Heathrow, and is a typical, and therefore good hotel. A comfortable room, (after the cookie!) with plenty of space. Warm, good TV, and quiet. We would definitely stay again before a flight.

Visually, this is not an externally impressive hotel but once inside, it looks like any contemporary Double Tree Hotel.

It is an airport hotel, 18 minutes by the Hotel Hoppa from Terminal 3. You can buy tickets in the lobby and the schedule is well posted and accurate.
Taxis are slightly shorter and ran me 3x the costs.

The rooms are what I would expect from a nicer LHR airport hotel. Nothing missing and nothing surprising. The bed and pillow were nicer than usual and there was no significant noise from outside. There was a pant press which was a nice touch.

There is a bar and a restaurant downstairs which were good.

The staff was efficient and friendly.

Security was a step higher than most hotels since the room card key was used to access them.

It would make it comparable to the LHR Novatel and then I shop for price. As with the other LHR hotels, none are inexpensive but this is a fair market value. If you are looking for a cheaper hotel before a flight, Reading is a better option.

The definitive measure of a good hotel from a great hotel is both offer a good nights sleep but the great ones give you a sense you are special and pampered for choosing their property. A Doubletree should get you in or near that great category, but this one fails to get into the "good" category because the beds were laughable (to hard un-even twins shoved together do not make a king), the room furnishings were old and run down...even the shower was ridiculous with its half glass wall in place of a shower curtain which created a lake on the floor. Nothing like stepping out of a shower into a pool of cold water. ALSO - having a stupid-bright thermostat in a dark room was unnerving. Most people want to sleep in a dark room, there was no fix as this fixture was squarely above the bed and on the main wall of the room.

Doubletree your cookies and pleasantries didn't overcome the sleeping arrangements. If you want a good nights sleep before you head out across the globe, Keep Calm and Move Along.

I stayed at this hotel due to a very late flight into Heathrow and the fact I am a Hilton Gold Card holder. My only complaint was the car park which was very small and it was by luck rather than judgement that I found the only space remaining other than a couple of diabled parking spaces.
The Gold Card got me a free room upgrade and free Wifi. The reception were very friendly and I was greeted with a "warm welcome cookie" (Choc chip and very nice!). The room was enormous, and had all the facilities I expect from a Hilton other than, strangely, a facecloth in the bathroom, not sure if this was an oversight or not. It was also clean and quiet. The bed, as usual, was very comfortable and I had an excellent sleep, a good shower in the morning, another essential from my point of view, and the usual Hilton quality breakfast with again friendly staff. Checkout was pain free, quick and also friendly. I cannot comment on the restaurant other than for breakfast as I didn't eat in the evening at the hotel due to late arrival. All round a good experience and I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Earn a Hilton Gold Card!

I have stayed in quite a few airport hotels. Usually a measly two stars would suffice, however the Hilton in comparison is brilliant. I found it modern, clean and comfortable. I also felt pretty secure here, as not only do you need a key card to enter the room, but also to gain access to the corridor. I joined my husband, he was on business and it was an impromptu visit on my part as it was Valentine's day. He stays at this hotel quite often.
The bathroom has bath/shower with necessary toiletries and plenty of fresh towels. Shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. No gown or slippers, although the room temperature was fine you may want to bring some socks or slippers.
The room has a comfortable bed, chair and desk, iron and ironing board, armchair and flat screen TV, safe, Air-con, free Wi-fi and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a small closet with 7 hangers. Although directly under the flight path we heard no noise inside the room at all.
Food in the restaurant was good. Although they did not get our order right at first the problem was soon rectified. No problem with the service. We had a lovely evening meal with a bottle of wine. There are a couple of take-aways within the vicinity of the hotel, but I am not sure I would venture out after dark. The room service menu was good, but a little limited.
The hotel is situated in a convenient location for the airport (Hoppa bus approx £4 one way). There is plenty of parking outside. You are also able to get into central London from the hotel. There is a bus stop just outside and to the right. There is also a Tesco Express on the opposite side of the road, if you have forgotten anything.
Breakfast was pretty average, no real complaints though.
A great hotel for a night or two, I would not hesitate to return. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly, polite and efficient. Check-out was at midday, but I was able to extend this by an hour. There is a pleasant lobby and bar area where I was able to sit and wait for my husband to finish his business meetings.

This is a decent Doubletree with friendly staff and a good quality of rooms. The parking was completely full on a very ordinary weekday night so beware planning to drive to the hotel and park there without checking. Parking is £11 per night at the time of writing, even if you are staying in the hotel.

No issues with noise and comfortable enough - good value for the low price paid.

They give you a cookie when you arrive. Which I still don't really understand.

We stayed here before catching a flight the next morning the check in was friendly and quick with a warm cookie . The room with an internal view was very clean and comfortable and modern and we slept well . The bed was large and very comfortable. Transport to the airport was by shuttle bus at regular intervals £4 per person and took 10 minutes to terminal 4 , tickets obtained from a vending machine in the foyer. Although we did not use the bar or restaurant the menu looked enticing and the seating comfortable. Overall a good place to stay one we will return to again especially at the price offered in the Internet.
