“Home from home food”
Reviewed August 9, 2014

We use Brackley as a half way place for stopping on our journey to South London and discovered this delightful cafe as the perfect place for a relaxing snack or lunch. It serves a varietof breakfast foods, midmorning 11s, lunches and teas. All freshly cooked and cheerfully served. The staff are most friendly and helpful. It seems to be a hub for local customers to meet, chat and eat. There are copies of the daily papers to read. It is suitable for families with young children and there is a choice ofcomfy settee seating and coffee tables for relaxing in as well as cheerful wipeable clothed tables and chairs inside and outside in the courtyard. Our most recent visit was with our 35yr old son and his partner who had just been on a safari holiday in Kenya. A bacon, sausage and egg sandwich for breakfast was just the ticket after 20hrs of travelling.

“Unexpected find for lunch”
Reviewed June 29, 2014

We stopped here for lunch, to break up a long drive from East Anglia to the West Country, avoiding service stations.
It was pouring with rain when we went, and it wasn't where we were intending to eat but that was closed, so it was a bit of a mad dash to get out of the rain.
The staff were friendly there was a good choice on the menu and a lovely atmosphere in the cafe. Also glad to find that as well as ample highchairs there were baby changing facilities too.

“Still a disappointment”
Reviewed June 19, 2014

My wife and I visited this café to break up a long journey. We had been there a umber of years ago for lunch and had felt it was poorly run and over priced. We were looking to have a drink and some cake and considered going to the Costa which had opened up on the main road but wanted to support the local area. The café was quiet at 3-ish and we were promptly served, we ordered two pieces of cake, a cappuccino and a milkshake. Our first issue was that the milkshake price wasn't displayed and the woman after some looking around decided that it cost £4 (four!) which I didn't question in the hope it was something very special. The drinks came and the coffee was scalding hot and completely tasteless. The milkshake was like Crusha mix with some ice cream, artificial flavour and served in a normal glass with no cream or anything fancy you'd expect when paying that price. The coffee cake I had had clearly been sat uncovered for most of the day and so was completely dried out. To say we were disappointed is an understatement, at least if we'd gone to Costa we would have received an average coffee and cake, it's a shame that I'm no longer willing to take that risk.

“Lunch out”
Reviewed May 31, 2014

We both ordered toasted sandwiches - they took quite a while to arrive but were acceptable when they did. The layout of the cafe however is somewhat drafty with the main entrance opening directly into the restaurant - very cold on our backs whilst we sat at the table - this would not of course be a problem when the weather improves. There are a few tables available outside too.

“Good alternative to Costa”
Reviewed May 12, 2014 via mobile

Stopped in for a bite and some coffee. My vanilla and hazelnut latte was great as were the crumpets. The food was "ok", but nothing too great. Very friendly customer service. Will return!
