Description: Whether you're looking for a romantic candle lit dinner, superb Sunday lunch, lazy weekend breakfast, a finely crafted coffee on the go, or somewhere to host a function, Restaurant Tranquilo is a very popular Adelaide Hills eatery to please all occasions. Also known as TQ, it offers Modern Australian cuisine with a hint of Mediterranean, as its name suggests. The restaurant is open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch, with candle lit dinners on Friday and Saturday nights. TQ provides both indoor and alfresco dining, with the latter being particularly popular during the warmer months. The menu, prepared by head chef and owner, Stephen Golding, includes a wide variety of dishes made from high quality ingredients and many locally sourced products. To accompany the main fare is a list of carefully selected wines and beers, including many local varieties. The family friendly restaurant also provides a children's menu, along with a number of vegetarian and gluten free options. TQ also hosts many functions from birthday dinners and lunches, cocktail and company functions, to even wedding receptions. Inside is always the perfect temperature, and with free WIFI (just ask our friendly staff for the password), you could spend all day here. Located on the main street of Stirling just after the first round-about after exiting the freeway, there's ample parking space behind the restaurant.

Caught up with friends for meal at Christmas. Restaurant fully booked as you would expect at this time of year. Tables very close together so would not be the place to go for a quiet intimate dining experience.
Waitress service was sparse. Felt sorry for the two young girls who were on duty as they were clearly rushed off their feet (and a little inexperienced too). As a consequence we waited ages for menus and even longer before drinks arrived. Food however when it arrived was delicious. I had chilli crab fettuccine. Others had kangaroo salad (and having seen it arrive I would probably order myself next time), and steak. All meals were delicious and polished off with a lovey ( and reasonably priced Shiraz from the wine list). It's been a while since we've been to Tranquillo's and I'm really not sure why as its definitely better priced that some of the nearby restaurants and a good atmosphere where you can actually have a conversation without competing to be heard over the music.

Theatre night at Stirling. Tranquilo is walking distance. He had Squid. I had trio of tarts. The BEST tarts ever! Busy night, restaurant full. Bookings highly recommended. I spied some wonderful desserts I'd go back to try.

We had friends over from Sydney and heard this was good only 4 of us. Mistake. Arrived on time and ordered drinks immediately, then food 5 mins later. So far so good. After 20 mins the drinks had not appeared, so asked for them Oh sorry we forgot !! waited and waited for meals. Other patrons came in and had lunch and departed before we saw any food at all. 50 minutes after ordering - asked what was happening. Oh sorry they might be waiting. The beef cheek pie with mash was good but the mash has formed a hard crust from being under heating light too long. The salt and pepper calamari had water coming out of it when cut. The barramundi was dry. Open steak sandwich looked nothing like the description. Very upsetting. So if you are happy to remind the staff about your order, wait for a long time and only get an average meal, I guess this is the place to go..

Enjoyed sitting outside with a view of urban Stirling and it's spring colours.
The S&P Calamari was excellent with an electric aioli and my company enjoyed the Steak Sandwich - housemade beetroot relish was the bomb!
A more than what we would normally pay for a lunch, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. Recommend a visit.

Still great and they looked after 8 of us very nicely. Disappointed pork ribs weren't on the menu, but the barramundi and kangaroo were both exceptional. Wish we could get here more often!
