We dropped in for Sunday lunch. We found friendly, attentive service, delicious meals cooked expertly and proper home made tartare sauce served with fish and chips. Great value.

I reviewed this last in December and was there for lunch again yesterday with my wife (Valentine's Day).

They have made and are continuing to make changes to the decor that are beautifully sympathetic with what the pub was and, in fact should be.

The atmosphere is still great and the service excellent! It is so nice to be greeted warmly by staff as you walk in and to be made to feel welcome and unhurried. There is a sense of good old-fashioned peace and quiet about the place that translates into a most enjoyable atmosphere for a good dinner and chat.

The wine list is impressive - and becoming more so for such a pub as this one. You can pick up some really great aged French reds and whites at a very reasonable price - or go with similarly impressive Aussie product.

Yesterday we chose to go with just a series of their 'starter' plates instead of the usual main course. They were delightful - fresh food, interesting flavour mixes and well presented - and large enough to fill us up completely - and I'm not a small eater! We ordered five of these between us and walked out of there for a food cost of about $28 per head - not bad!

In short, one to try when you're looking for a place that is far from the madding crowd. I often use this pub for business lunch meetings with clients.

You know how most pubs have been done up to within an inch of their lives and have just tuned into crowded plastic monstrosities? Well here's a place that is still a local pub, just the way we locals like it! It's being done up, slowly and sympathetically without becoming plastic. The food is great, the wine list is superb and the service is just brilliant. It is real. Get there as soon as you can but don't tell anyone!

A nice little pub, nothing special though. Food was nice, very much pub fare and no risks taken.
Been there a couple of times now and will go back. If you're after something a little nicer, head into Stirling to one of the restaurants. Overall, a nice meal.

looks old school great from outside but once you step inside its like you have stepped into a wartorn country. it is in need of a referb BADLY. saying that, the food was not bad and the staff very friendly they just need to charge for what it is rather than what it could become if they stick in a few more pokie machines and build up some revenue
