Clean and tidy motel with all that you need for a stay, separate bedroom from lounge, and kitchen with electric elements, so that is good. Opposite the beach and within walking distance to few shops if you need something basic. Extremely clean and linen lovely. Would recommend.

Room Tip: all seem good

Stayed here during the cycling Tour of Northland and found it perfect - virtually on the finish line for stage two, and had all the amenities we were looking for.

Room Tip: You may need to book well in advance because accommodation in this part of Northland is hard to get, but once here, most of the rooms are great.

Very friendly owner showed us to a very large room with sitting room/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom with a couple of chairs outside to soak up the sun. The room has a TV, fridge, 2 ring cooker, kettle, microwave, tea, coffee, milk, iron, ironing board and towels were provided. It was a short walk to the small number of places to eat in the village and the beach is just across the road.

This motel is in a lovely spot, right opposite the beach and near a pub and other eating places. The rooms are comfortable but not very big, at least the one we were in wasn't. They are clean. There is a lovely place to eat at the top of the hill (you'd have to drive there) with fantastic views of the sand dunes and sea - on the way to the motel from the south. Sorry, can't remember the name of it but worth a look. The motel is fairly priced.

This was our farthest north stop in New Zealand, and the location of this motel is lovely (in spite of the rain). The great sand dunes are just across the water. There's a funny little lighthouse out in front, the beach is beautiful just across the road, the rooms are comfortable with kitchens and there was a big blooming hibiscis tree out the back door. it's very convenient for a visit to the Kauri forests or as a stop for heading farther north (next time!).

Room Tip: ask for the best view--many are blocked by the other building
