Our first experience at a B&B. Stonehurst was amazing. The whole atmosphere was very romantic, beautiful home built in 1867. Slept like a baby in the comfortable bed. The hosts are very friendly and serve an amazing breakfast! I think I'm hooked. Hope to be back in the spring. Thanks

If you are reading this, I don't have to go into the obvious advantages of B&Bs over sterile hotel rooms. However, Stonehurst turned out to be above and beyond in amenities, with many sitting rooms, games room, exercise room, pool and hot tub available for our use, including a common kitchenette for guests. On top of all that was the beautifully restored 1867 house with its high ceilings and grand hallway to make you feel you had travelled back in time, and our servants (oops, I mean gracious hosts) served a most delicious breakfast each day.

My mum and I wished we had stayed for more than 1 night at this wonderful B&B. The house is beautifully decorated, very spacious, with so many different rooms to relax in! Stonehurst is within easy walking distance to downtown but far enough away from street traffic noise. Our room the Blue Room was very clean and comfortable, we appreciated the little extra touches like the cozy robes. Deb is a warm and friendly host, and a great cook, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. We were even supplied with delicious mini muffins on telling Deb we were going for a tour of The Elora Gorge!!
We were very sad to leave and would definitely recommend Stonehurst B&B as a great place to stay.
Thank you Deb and Rich

Three of us just had the wonderful experience of staying at Stonehurst. From the warm welcome when we arrived to the fond farewell when we left our stay was beautiful. Although we were in a mansion we felt cozy and at ease. We played cards in the beautiful sun room, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast served by the cheerful, accommodating Deb. We would recommend to anyone within 100 miles of Fergus to make the trip to this beautiful town and to treat yourselves to a stay at Stonehurst.

Room Tip: All of the rooms looked comfy to us

We recently spent 2 nights here and truly hated to leave. Their historic mansion is beautifully decorated, within walking distance to downtown, well maintained, incuding a jar of homemade choc chip cookies and a joy just to experience. Our "home" was the Lavender room with its incredibly comfy bed - which I HATED to get out of every morning. Breakfast were absolutely delicious with fresh fruit salad, homemade muffins but my favourite was the German apple pancake - delicious!! Deb and Rich are wonderful hosts with all kinds of ideas about things to do complete with printed driving instructions to get you where you want to go. Our weather was not perfect so one afternoon we cuddled up on their comfortable front porch furniture with a bottle of wine from the Niagara on the lake region and had a wonderful afternoon - the best part was our hosts were able to join us. We LOVED our time here and on leaving, felt like we were leaving the home of new friends. This is absolutely THE place to stay in Fergus - we can't wait to return.

Room Tip: They are all great rooms with very comfy beds
