“Great find”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

A really super B&B within easy walking distance of Beer town centre and beach. We were booked into the Rose room, which is lovely - very nicely colour co-ordinated and really comfortable. Simon the owner was welcoming and very informative about Beer and the surrounding area. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order - we both choses a full English which included a mild but flavoursome bacon, a big hit for us. Overall we had a great stay and we will definitely be returning.

Tried to book a night to stay over in B+B on the same day, right in the middle of August and unsurprisingly had some difficulty as all of the B+Bs on the main road were fully booked. However as a last chance we stumbled across this place, not expecting much. The host was very warm and welcoming and showed us the room while we were weighing up our options. This sealed the deal - the ground floor room was amazing! Very clean, and inviting. Nice, comfortable bed, thick quilt which made sleeping hard as it was so hot in the night. Had to have windows open which became very noisy in the early hours due to the gulls but nothing that could have been prevented. Due to the location of the room, quite noisy in the morning as right next to staff room, kitchen and dining area and sound travelled well. Not far to travel to breakfast though, and it was very nice! Host was very knowledgeable about the area and offered lots of options for us to do on our holiday, very helpful tips! Car parking just across the road with a permit. Would stay again!

Spent a very comfortable night at this bed and breakfast. We were greeted with a warm welcome and ate a good breakfast. We slept in the Rose room which had an en suite and was spotlessly clean. We were offered a lot of useful information which we acted upon. Beer is a lovely quaint place set in the heart of the Jurassic coast and a good place to recover when undertaking the South West coastal path!

We had a one night stop over in Beer enroute to Cornwall and were very happy with the Belmont B&B. Comfortable bed ,excellent breakfast and friendly owner. What more do you want from a B&B? .We understand that Simon also runs trips around the area if you are staying longer.

Simon provided excellent information for things to do in the area, he offers transport and guided tours, and Beer is a wonderful little town with great seafood options within a 2 min walk of the B&B. The rooms are clean and comfortable, even the smallest one had an ensuite bathroom.

Room Tip: Ask for the luxury room if you want the most spacious room and quietest stay.

We booked Belmont House as were booked in for an evening at River Cottage HQ for my husband's 40th birthday. This B & B is a lovely little gem found in the small seaside resort of Beer - what a great find it was too!

We stayed in the "Blue room" which was the largest room available and it was very modern, fresh and comfortable. The bathroom as a good size too, we had complimentary toiletries and fresh white bath robes, there was nothing that you couldn't ask for. There was also a comfy sofa in our room that we lounged out on and a flat screen tv (with dvd player and a selection of dvd's to play) and a small fridge too - bonus! Overall it was extremely clean and comfortable there were nice little touches with dark mint chocolates on our pillows when we arrived, tea & coffee or hot chocolate, complimentary bottle of water and a small bag of peanuts in the room.

We haven't stayed in many small b & b's, we tend to stay in city chain hotel's, I know you can't compare a small b&b to a chain hotel but to be honest with the little touches mentioned above we couldn't fault Belmont House. The breakfast in the morning was a good quality cooked breakfast offering plenty to eat with cereal, yogurt and toast as well and the service was quick.

Simon, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming, as well as Katie the young lady who helps run the b & b, together they provide a great service

We bought our tickets for River Cottage separate to the b & b, but we took advantage of the transport offered by Belmont House. Simon took us there giving us a tour around beforehand and picked us up afterwards, which meant that we could both have a drink and really relax and enjoy our evening even more.

I would recommend to anyone to go to Beer and stay at Belmont House, it is such a quaint place to stay. Give it a go and if you are thinking of going to River Cottage and would like a drink when there ask about the transport - you obviously have to pay for it but it is well worth it!

Room Tip: Choose the Blue Room it is the more dearer room but quite a big room and is at the back of the prope...
