We had 2 lovely nights at Great Seaside - and hit nice weather in early December. Amanda was a charming hostess (fab breakfasts) - and as the only guests, we had sole use of the lounge with a woodburner, great to come back to after a walk to Beer and back. Ate at both pubs in the village, both lovely, but preferred the Fountains Head for real atmosphere and friendly locals - and a fabulous steak supper. Bedrooms at Great Seaside spacious, enormous bathroom, all beatifuly decorated. Highly recommended.

Have just returned from a few days at the Great Seaside bed and breakfast. This is a beautiful farmhouse in a wonderful scenic part of the country set in a National Trust valley.. The beach is approximately 200 yards from the house and the cliff walk into Beer, for those who can climb a steep incline, runs past the farmhouse. There is a very nice beach restaurant with a good view of the beach. Our room was on the groundfloor. It was a beautiful, large room with a dual aspect and furnished well. There is a not an en suite bathroom but the bathroom is next door to the bedroom and is quite private and very large.
Amanda is a very good host and her breakfasts are superb,
I would not hesitate to recommend this bed and breakfast which is run to a very high standard and set in a beautiful part of the country.
Just a comment the road is very narrow so if you are a nervous driver perhaps you had better think again.

Room Tip: The ground floor room is very large and furnished well although it does not have comfy chairs. It is...

Four of us, two couples, visited Great Seaside B and B for three nights in early September when luckily we were blessed with absolutely perfect weather. Great Seaside however is perfect whatever the weather. Amanda gave us a very warm and friendly welcome and had all the information we needed for a stay in this part of Devon. The location simply could not be better, 200 yards down a country lane to the beach with all the amenities, food , drink, safe bathing, cliff walks etc. Great Seaside is a beautiful old thatched house owned by the National Trust and exceeded our expectations. First class accomodation and an excellent breakfast. The only real test of a good B and B is - would we return? The answer - of course we would and the sooner the better!

Room Tip: The upstairs double room has quite low beams, take care!

I adore Branscombe and have been a frequent visitor to this beautiful village for many years, but this year was the first holiday I'd spent at 'Great Seaside Farm' and I have to say I was very impressed! My host, Amanda, is a friendly lady who always presented with a big smile.
She greeted me warmly upon my arrival and as I crossed the threshold I felt transported back in time; beams, inglenook fireplace and flag floors, I was in my element. However for those of us who appreciate a few mod. cons. fear not, for the flat screen television and 21st century washing facilites have found their way into the building and were in excellent working order.
My room was delightful, on the grounf floor with an adjacent shower room, whch sparlked and shone, because cleanliness ranks high at 'Great Seaside' with no evidence of dust, dirt or spiders weaving webs whatsoever. Breakfast was delicious and I must add that Amanda makes the best scrambled eggs I've ever tasted! I would definitely recommend 'Great Seaside' and look forward to returning there soon myself.

One of the best b&b I've ever been. Its literally by the beach and its 10 minutes to the masons arms pub serving lovely food. It's also right by the coast path that takes you to beer via with great view over the ocean and cliffs. Last but not least, amanda is a lovely host and serves delicious breakfast. A must go!

Hadn't stayed in a B and B for many years preferring cottages and/or hotels. The Great Seaside B and B shows just how far B and Bs have come in recent years. We had a large room on the ground floor with a large en suite shower room. The decor was a delighful mix of old and new and the bed was comfortable with more pillows and cushions than you could shake a stick at. A bonus is that is only 200 yards from the beach.
It's run by Amanda who is about as far from the stereotypical seaside landlady as it is possible to get. She makes you feel really welcome and cooks a mean Full English. Try the poached eggs - they are a work of art. She is also a mine of information about things to see and places to eat and drink.
