We stayed at Durham House for 3 nights at the end of August. Although we arrived early we were lucky to be greeted by Shelly (who was very welcoming), and shown to our room.
Our room, at the back of the house was a bit of an odd shape - sort of long and narrow(ish), but it was very clean and tidy, with the bonus of a newly fiited en suite with shower.
Nice to have a proper window too instead of just an extractor fan !
We were given a parking permit for the main carpark - just 2 minutes walk - so no problem.Beer itself is a lovely town, very pretty with flowers and hanging baskets outside many hotels and shops.A good choice of pubs and restaurants all on the doorstep.( The Anchor Inn has really good food.)
The bed was VERY comfortable, the seagulls will make sure you don't sleep late though !
Breakfast was good too with a choice of something different from the usual - nothing wrong with the Full English mind !
We walked to Seaton and did the tram run up to Colyton - made a nice change. Next day, we walked in the other direction to Branscombe and had a good Sunday lunch in the Masons Arms.
The simple pleasures of life - and why not ?
