Description: We are situated in the centre of the old village and have been here for many years. Our building is built entirely out of stone and wood which helps in setting an atmosphere of warmth and good taste. You may prefer to have your meal in our yard which is encircled by much green foliage and many colorful flowers. Our visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional Greek dishes cooked in the wood oven. It is worth noting that some recipes are cooked and served in earthenware. The recipes in pottery is cooked over low heat and braise for some time in the oven, achieving the best result in taste. Using the wood oven for baking traditional recipes inclusion and baking pizza. The wood oven has the ability to literally transform the pizza making crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. This is because the temperature in the oven reaches 450 degrees Celsius.

We had some real local food here - goat with wild mountain greens. It was great to have something different and the service was friendly.

We ate here for dinner and was really pleased with the hospitality and friendliness of staff and the value for money on a lovely meal.
We had previously dined at more expensive restaurants in Chania but this was still one of our favourites. The complimentary bread & dessert was lovely and much better than others we'd had. Highly recommend this restaurant!

It has been 13 years since I visited this place for the 1st time. Since my friend lived in that area, I never missed the chance to come back for truly home made Cretan food and warm atmosphere. This summer we came back after 6 years "break" and I have to honestly say, that nothing has changed as for the quality of food, drinks and unique atmosphere of this place. Food is absolutely excellent, wine delightful and charming owner, still takes his time and chat with every table personally. Complimentary desert and home made "raki" is just the silver lining. I cant wait to have dinner in Horiatiko again :)
If you are looking for solid tasty local food and welcoming atmosphere, dont miss this place!!!

This place was highly recommended through Trip Advisor, and we were excited after ordering. Sadly the food and service were only average. The staff couldn´t quite handle the amount guests they served that night, and high levels of stress were obvious. On the pluss side they were always friendly and smiling. The highlight of the evening was a superb, spicy chocolate cake with delicious ice-cream. Maybe next time?
